Mystery of Blues LEATHER JACKET

Post by Eiti »

I have just seen Mystery of Blues the first time.
The leather Jacket Ford wears looks like an TOD (smaller Pockets)
with other pocket placement. Is it a Wested ?

Man, I thought you were talking about the mystery of me getting my new wested. :P It sure was an adventure, and a mystery.

As far as the jacket, I believe it was Harrisons own Wested and Fedora, but no 100% sure.

I'm not sure about it being from ToD, I never really studied it at length. I always figured it was a left over Last Crusade jacket, as that was the most recent film to have been made, and it's probably the same Hat and Jacket that Ford paraded around in at the press-junket for the DVD release. It seems like they have a ready to wear surplus hat and jacket somewhere at Lucasfilm that they bring out for stuff like that. I could be wrong though, as I never looked for the tell-tale details.

yep... I would go with that as well. The distressing on it looks the same as that on the Jackets from the Last Crusade.

This has been discussed before on other threads and other sections. I believe the general consenus was it was his LC Gear, as it was the most recently available, but he threw in his "winter gear" of gloves, scarf, and cardigan. If you watch it closely, you'll notice the whip is hanging on his web belt, and he doesn't have a gunbelt on. As well as a Whoops with a rather modern Walkee Talkee in his back pocket...

The large collar size was another indicator of it being a LC jacket too. Regards. Michaelson

Does anyone know if Wested or MBA was ever part of making clothes for the series? Just out of curiosity...

Hello guys,

I MUST get this movie! Does anybody know if one can download it from anywhere in the world? Maybe some of you have it digitalized (as mpg, asf?)?

Greetings

That pocket placement is really bad.

Looks to me like they're riding up a little bit, judging from the folds in the leather above the pockets, plus Ford is sort of hunched over. I'm not sure if the placement is bad or it's just the way it is bunching up.

Either way, it was proven long ago that they just used gear from the Lucasfilm archives ca. "Last Crusade."

Not sure if this helps but Amazon stocks VHS copies of it, unless you want to wait for the eventual DVD's....

I meant the distance from the zipper looks off, not the distance from the bottom hem.

So, let me see if I understand you guys, so you're saying that the jacket, which is up on the screen is not screen accurate?!

The pockets are placed in postion from the edge of each side of the jack. Since the left hand pocket is measured from the edge of the storm flap it will be closer to the center when the jacket is zipped up. With the jacket unzipped the pockets appear more evenly spaced. The picture brings out the difference. You can see how close the left pocket is to the zipper. If they spaced the pockets an equal distance from the center of the storm flap when the jacket is zipped, the right pocket would still appear farther back but the difference wouldn't be as noticable as it is when they space the pockets an equal distance from each edge.

Also looks like the LC jacket Steven Spielberg was photographed in while filming LC, so I would bet it is his LC jacket.
