My latest wested.

Post by dresden »

I got this jacket last October, but didn't wear it much in the beginning, I was wear mostly my wested pre-distressed cowhide for the winter months. This is a LC/CS jacket in very thick lambskin. I made a few requests like no hem stitch, no top stitch on the back sleeves, a wider collar stand and a first attempt at the pockets. Overall I like the jacket it's my favorite so far, but not to SA. So after seeing zoltars & KT Templars new LC jackets which look really awesome, especially KT's I've decided to get another in the lambtouch. This time Im going to call Peter & discuss with him what I want and requests. So what do you guys think about this jacket? Like I said I really like it, and it fits great!

I think it looks pretty good! It ticks most of the boxes AND it's in lamb.

I know mine has a few obsessive tweaks, but yours is way up there. If it fits, wear it and enjoy!

Thanks KT! I'm a little OCD about my jackets, especially the LC version, I've been try to get a very close version to the film jacket or at least a good facsimile. It's like an itch I can't scratch. But this jacket is definitely my go to jacket.

NP or a good cowhide, seems to be the leather of choice for a LC repro., due to its natural thickness, dusty look and texture seems to really send it off in the true spirit. Still I wonder what a thick veg. tanned lamb/sheep skin might bring us?

Totally agree with you tex, the NP & PD cowhides do make a good looking LC, unfortunately my PD jacket is about 1-1 1/2 inches to short.

Nice job. Good pockets. It's certainly close enough for my taste - so much better that the official LC by them.

I think the LC jacket looks like lamb, but old school thick veg tanned stuff. I had a jacket in that in the 1980's and it was solid, not butter soft, and although light in weight, it looked something like cowhide.
