Indymasillia, you've been here 2 months and only now decide to post so you can stir the pot? Kind of an odd way to start your membership over here.

I see you're a lot more active on other sites. Eitherway this conversation is between two people and you're not one of them. We asked that this subject be left alone and Kredepops has been more than hospitable to you in my opinion for bringing this up again.

Really, that is beautiful. Thanks for writing where they're numbered. Very cool. Really looking forward to seeing these in person. (By the way Indymassilia, really like your Marion sketch. I think it's awfully hard to capture Karen Allen's Raiders personality and you've really done it.)

From looking at these pictures, and I know they could be misleading, but the jacket looks as if it has gussets. Does the Kelso have gussets? W>

Just curious, indymassilia, are you the same George Massilia who is one of the named Bill Kelso partners, located in France?

If so, then you having 001 or 1981 makes perfect sense, as in my personal experience the first few production jackets usually go to either an owner, partner, or special friends of the company before going into full production.

Like I said, just curious.

No,i'm joking of course("humour marseillais")...i'm no affiliated in any kind with BK company,to speak the truth i had spare money to buy a great Tony Nowak raiders jacket on the second hand market ( i'm still want a TN raiders,but the money is gone to BK now..),and i'm waiting to see the first pictures of owners of the BK jacket(thanks to Christian and Gorak..) before "pull the trigger" at BK..
Like CRB,i would prefer a dark brown color,i asked some samples of the authentic brown to BK,and when i received them i know i don't have to wait
they put the dark brown leather available...because the authentic brown striated color was perfect,not to bright,not to dark,and a dull-mat ,not shiny texture,well perfect!
For the story of the serial number,you're plobably right for others company...in fact the number 001 must go to Christian(first owner of the jacket)but he prefered the number 000,so the number 001 was free(i readed it on Fortune& Glory forum in fact) and i take the opportunity and like nobody get it ,i had the great chance to buy the 001 /1981 jacket,that's all!
You know,if i must be a french partner ,friend ,dealer of a leather company in Indiana Jones production jackets,it will surely be the Wested leather company who i had bought to them at least 30 jackets of Indiana Jones in my life !!!
I gave to Wested a lot of money,but Indy jacket are one of my passion so i spended without counting the cost

Yep, you probably should since everyone wants to say how evil the rulers of this place are. I know you want it to look like the Mods here are such jerks because we only let a "member" post 6 pics per thread. And it's a set number the "member" agrees to when joining, since it's mentioned in the Rules section. It's only been broken numerous times in this thread alone and the rules been posted as much.

Making people abide by rules they agreed to... Yeah, we're evil

Sometimes I wonder how many pictures is needed on a review if you can't do with with ''12'' pluss a gallery.

Hey Orb..that looks really good. Did you feel that it was "broken in" right outa the box? Mine totally felt that way and every time I put it on, it feels as if I have had it forever.

I still have the Nowak Goat. Too heavy for regular wear but still one of the best SA jackets out there in my opinion.

singsingjohnny- yes sir, it is the regular Authentic Brown Straited Lamb with little to no stiations requested! Definitely more screen accurate than any of the darker lambs ever offered by any vendor in my opinion. Especially to Raiders!

Agreed, I think it really nails the Raiders look and I love it! The Raiders jacket seemed to fluctuate from a brown to black-ish during the course of the movie, due to lighting (I'm guessing...), but this jacket just looks the part. And although I love all the Nowaks I've owned, I do feel that they are a bit heavy for me, even in Michigan!

I've got a sizing inquiry in with BK (I wear a 50 and broad shoulders)...if that works, I'll be selling some other jackets and picking this up, definitely.

Thanks for all the pics, really helped me decide whether or not to pursue a Relic Hunter!

I found my BK a bit too baggy in the arms to be perfect, my TNO has much slimmer arms. So I had them taken in a bit. Wow, what a difference - it's like a whole new jacket. The slimmer arms totally transforms the way the jacket holds together and pulls on the body. It's perfect now - can't recommend this enough.

As is probly well known by now, I live in South Texas where it is hot and humid most of the year and since I have received my Kelso, I have worn it plenty much in these summer days. It is doable in this type of weather...like a real Indy jacket should be!

Got my Bill Kelso Jacket several weeks back, but it was just before I had to leave town for 3 weeks.
I'm back now, of course, but a BUSY week of neglected work was waiting for me.
Point being, it was my hope to get some good photos taken and write some words of praise for how very, very impressed I am with this jacket... but the work overlap prevented me from posting anything any earlier. The free time to do so simply hadn't presented itself.

All that said, the shortest possible review I could write would likely read that for ME it's the single best Raiders Jacket (in every possible way that it could be) that I have ever owned.
It's hard, though, to write even a few gushy words about this jacket without feeling like I'm turning a blind eye to the disagreements and "static" that first heralded the arrival of this new jacket offering. I truly hope that all of the Bill Kelso-related issues and concerns can be ironed out or corrected over time to everyone's satisfaction, because for as much as there truly were matters to discuss and debate and worry over, the jacket that's been produced by this company is truly something special.

Anyway, I do still intend to write a short love letter to this jacket about it's specifics... but I'm afraid even now I'm running out of free time so I'll just offer up this little collection of somewhat unique (for me, anyway) photos.

One of the things I've always loved finding in a good Indy jacket is when the leather has a smoothness and relaxed softness that allows it to (for lack of a better word) "swing" ...There's plenty of action-packed scenes in Raiders when Indy is twisting this way & that, turning suddenly and throwing punches (Flying Wing fight) and as long as his jacket isn't zipped up a bit (Raven Bar) the jacket is in full-blown, full-swing "ready to fly OFF his back" - mode.

I love that.

For me, if it's gonna be a good Indy Jacket, it's gotta have that SWING.

So anyway, at one point this past weekend I was wearing my new jacket and my wife commented on how nice and soft the leather feels, so I mentioned how I liked how this characteristic contributed not only to the way the jacket drapes but also how it swings (and then told her the same thing I just wrote in the paragraph above)
As it happened, my wife had our camera with her, so even though we didn't have the time and opportunity to do the photos I'd still like to eventually do to accompany a little write-up, there was time for me to throw a few air-punches for the camera to try and capture what I'm talking about.

Here then, at least, are a few of the photos we had some quick fun in taking: a little collection I call "It Don't Mean a Thing..."

(Oh yeah... And once we'd finished taking those photos I asked my wife to grab a quick shot of the front right - my right - panel of the jacket to try and capture the look of the grain ...The jacket looks a little "gray" in some of these shots, but I assure you it's nice & brown in person)

Thanks, man. It's just a straight Size 42 with no changes whatsoever in measurements.
It IS what I'd call a tiny bit big on me (mostly in the length of the arms), but I figure that between the little bit of arm-length you lose when the arm creases start to define themselves and the way leather itself can shrink up a little over time (and good or bad, I've never run from getting a little rain on my jacket), that I'll be all right in the long run.

It is one, soft, beautiful, comfortable leather, though, I've gotta tell ya.

Mitch, that is one heck of a beautiful jacket. I agree with you completely that it's gotta have the swing. I love that shot of the back. It looks like that jacket really tapers from the shoulders to the waist, or do you just have the straps cinched tight? I look forward to seeing more shots of it
