G&B Clearance Item: Get on it!

Post by Lao Feng »

G&B is advertising an Expo Size 40R for $299 under their "clearance" section. (Newly designed website as well). Happy hunting. Feng

So tempted... but who the heck needs another jacket? Especially in Texas.

I can relate! I saw this too and started counting 'pennies' and then remembered that I need to get one of Wade's bags next month -- and, I (don't tell my wife, I said this) do have enough jackets (well, for now, anyway) ;) ! W>

Gorak, when I made my Texas comment, I was actually thinking of your ever growing collection.

If this were a 36R it would be mine right this moment! I hope someone out there grabs this up while they still can. The expedition goat is one of the toughest jackets going. I've owned two over the years. Jackets I bought second hand and later sold due to sizing issues. I'm currently in the market for a Expedition goat in my proper size. Maybe one of these days one will go on sale for me!

Yeah, the other thing holding me back is size. I wear a slim 40, or sometimes a 38, but I've heard that G&B's are slightly oversized in the chest. Can anyone confirm that?

I know, I know, just give them a call... but that would put me just one step closer to buying something. #-o

I wear a 38 regular and the lamb G&B I used to own fit great. So, for what that is worth, yes. However, I have also read and heard, mostly here, some people have had sizing issues with their jackets, as you suggest. Maybe I just got lucky. Like every manufacturer out there, it seems there are variances. All of my Westeds (minus Dr. Who -- which is S, M, L, etc. situation) are 38's minus one which is a very old version of their pre-distressed in cowhide which for some reason they labled as 40 reg, but fits me like a glove. So, I guess -- who knows? I have always been pretty lucky with sizings on clothes, for the most part, but with hats -- whole 'nother story. W>
