What a nerve...

This has to be one of the most transparent scams I have ever seen. I am sure nobody here would fall for it but I'll be interested to see if he does manage to snare some poor sap:

Sadly those are pretty common scams...although somewhat good for a laugh. I think I remember the original posting, so it looks like that guy found himself a sucker in the guy now trying to sell.

Good grief that's bad. I had to read the description three times just to understand what he was trying to say.

Classic urban legend/scam language: third person/friend of a friend of a friend, original owner passed away, no proof of authenticity/labels, etc.

It's just an old jacket that his friend George had in his office for about 30 years...

It HAD a label last time he tried to sell it, but, the pics of it were blurry and it was all ripped up (funny how there is barely any wear to the liner, but the label was worn to shreds). It looked like one of those old Disneyland labels.
I guess too many people called him on the label and he removed it.

He also included pics of the back last time, showing the reversed strap/buckles and double stitched shoulder seams. It's definitely an old fan jacket.

If I were going to try to pull off a scam like that, I'd at least try to make the jacket match one of the screen-used ones in some key areas. Maybe overly distress it, call it a stunt jacket or a prototype, attach a barely legible Western Costume label...

He's not even trying.

The last time it was listed I contacted the owner and asked him why he was trying to rip people off. I got a nasty response saying he would contact the police if I wrote him again. I was so scared.
