OK. I received the XL Long jacket Mr. Hack said was my size based on the info I sent (height, weight, chest, sleeve). He said Large was out of the question as far as fit. Opened the box and tried it on. It was a tent. Contacted Mr. Hack by email with pictures and he agreed. Told me to send it back for exchange for a Large Long and include a note saying that I wanted an exchange. Returned it on the day I received it, Monday.
UPS tracking showed they received it Wednesday morning. By Friday night I had received no notice of when my replacement would be shipped. :? I emailed asking about it and got an email on Saturday saying the office was closed on the weekend and to relax. Everything was in hand.

Monday I receive an email saying my jacket was marked for refund instead of exchange, despite the note asking for an exchange. However they are discontinuing the Hero jacket and they had only 2 Large Longs left. But they had been treated with conditioning and were darker than the first jacket I received. At this point I wanted to come away from this with something, seeing I was out over $15 for shipping back the first jacket, so I say fine.

I get an email saying my replacement jacket has been shipped and they were able to find an un-conditioned jacket. :D It arrived and I was also happy to see it had storm flap snaps. :D I slip it on and it fit well. A bit snug in the shoulders but other than buying a custom jacket I have to expect some compromise. Better than swimming in a XL.

However, after wearing the jacket for a few days, I notice the handwarmer pockets are a bit too high on the jacket. :( Keeping my hands in them makes my shoulder rise up and is very uncomfortable. I've seen posts in other topics on here about the misplacing of these pockets on imported jackets. I wonder if I got someone else's return.

Conclusion: I'll either keep the jacket and just not use the handwarmer pockets for their intended purpose, or I'll put it up on ebay and try to get my full purchase price back. But this will be my one and only purchase from U.S. Wings.

As to the sizing problem, I'm not surprised. I gave them my measurements, and their recommendation was too big as well. As to the hand warmers, they should not be selling those jackets that the pockets sit too high. Those were mistakes, I believe.

Not sure if the pockets are mistakenly placed or my arms are too long. Here are a couple of pictures. What do you think?

Yep, that is indeed one of the 'mistake' jackets. That is not the normal pocket placement on any of the Hero's.

Well I emailed Myke at U.S. Wings about either a refund or exchange for a Legend since I was told the Hero jacket is discontinued. I like the longer length of the Hero but really want to come away from this transaction with a jacket. ](*,)

I am shocked to see that even though US Wings KNOWS that there are problems with these jackets they still feel like they can send them out. It's like they are hoping they can send them out to people that won't notice or something.

I am in love with my new Striated Lambskin "Legend" Jacket. Showered with it the first day to convince the collar to stay in place and relax it a bit. :? Image Ignoring the comments on the rest of the outfit :)

This wasn't a conscious IJ moment, just an odd coincidence that I'm wearing some things today.

To ward off the cold, my Wings Antique COW Hero (I wouldn't give it up for the world) and Tundrarider's magnificent KotCS backpack still having adventures around the world..
at the Bongeunsa Temple in South Korea..

The first run of cowhide used to make the Legend and Hero was the best!

+1

I bought one of the US made antique cow Heros for my pops, and the leather makes it probably the best non-SA Indy jacket I've ever seen. Seriously, I wish they would do another run in a similar skin....I'd scoop one up for myself without a second thought.

That's a great pic, Mark.
