and here is the Wested Hero in Authentic Lamb.

....same poses to show the similarities or differences, whichever boat you choose...
and I am trying to figure out a collage comparison so bear with me....

Both are about the same measurements but ironically enough, the Nowak feels much shorter...

Wow, they really are quite similar.
Thanks for the comparison Gorak!

Re: Nowak Goat...Wested Hero
_! Just the guy I was hoping to run into! Tell me about gussets! I just noticed that the Nowak doesn't have the full "orange slice" look....it cuts off on one end. My New Todds does the same thing. My Wested Hero has the full slice. As a matter of fact, all my other jackets do. These are the first two jackets I've ever sen it on. I first saw it on my Todds and just assumed it,was a mistake but now this Nowak has it so I'm confused. I remember you talked about "correct" gusset construction once. So what, exactly should I be looking for?
I wanted to pm you on this topic but others have asked me so I figured maybe a public explanation by someone knowledgable may answer lots of questions....or stir up some muc k..

Both are great looking jackets! I prefer the slightly longer jacket too, but I'm a long-torso kind of guy. Thanks for sharing! Your Wested makes me feel like I should get one... You know. When the dollar is stronger.

The Nowak looks 10 times better. But that's not hard
The collar on your Nowak is just perfection.
Cheers

Re: Nowak Goat...Wested Hero
Thanks guys....
By measuring tape, they are just about even all the way around. Maybe a few centimeters here and there but nothing over an inch. The Hero is much more lightweight, softer and comfortable to wear BUT the Nowak just feels really awesome. And while the leather feels heavier and a bit stiffer (could be that it needs a hard breaking in as it was practically brand new when I got it) it seems to just reek Raiders of the Lost Ark. The leather is beautiful and perfectly grainy. And the color is perfect for me. It is somewhat wonky in fit but looks great from just about any angle to me. And while it looks short in the hand, once I put it on, it doesn`t feel short. I really like it and wish it was alittle more lightweight. And while my Wested kinda holds its own against it, the Nowak wins over on the smaller, thinner yoke.

The Nowak just looks Raiders. Great jacket you have there.
Re: Nowak Goat...Wested Hero
Exactly what I was thinking. That is my one criticism of the Wested. Mine are great and I like the new seal lamb - it picks up perfect character, but the yoke is still a bit too low in the back. Tony really nailed that feature.Gorak wrote:Thanks guys....

Re: Nowak Goat...Wested Hero
Gorak, is your Hero lamb seal or dark brown? I know you have it listed as "authentic lamb" which is in my experience from Wested is a seal brown color. I just want to clarify. I am interested in a Wested Hero but I am very much on the fence about what hide to go with. I like the look of your Hero a lot. Both jackets are beautiful btw.

Re: Nowak Goat...Wested Hero
Bogie....it literally was just labeled as "Authentic Brown Lambskin". There was no 'seal' label..at least as Gemma shared as I asked for the thinnest lambskin they had at the time. She said that the dark lamb was the thinnest and the next was "Authentic Lamb". As I already had a Wested in dark lamb (which rocks all on its own), I opted for the Authentic Lamb. I assume it was meant as authentic to the movie as close as possible. I think Holt or someone once told the story behind it and it is very very close to what I see on film...especially the Temple sequence. This new Nowak I have resembles the entire rest of the film. Don`t think this helped you though now that I read back on it!
