He's not even 5 yet, but my son has a definite preference for the Raiders bash. The other day I took his Rubies fedora, sprayed it, and ironed the factory bash out of it, then gave it as close to a Raiders bash as I could. (No, I would never treat a real fedora this way.)
It has a TOD taper now, but it looks better. I think I have a little room to lower the crown a little and reduce the taper. It'll do until he's old enough for a real fedora. (For $13, it's been a heck of a deal.)
It was "When I grow up I want to be..." Day at school today. We couldn't pull off a police look, and he wouldn't go for Texas Ranger, so he went as a cowboy.

It won't be screen accurate, but if you put a diamond crease in the top, it'll widen out the sides and make the taper less apparent.
Here is my house hat with it's usual center dent:
And with a diamond:
Notice how it looks wider with the diamond.

Thanks, guys.
Screen accurate? Hah! Yours looks great, Bugs. I'll give it a shot.
The more I look at it, the more I think it needs a brim trim. Looks awfully "drover-y" at the moment.

Thanks, OJ.
Before you trim the brim, remember that it looks so big because he is so little. He and the hat look adorable together. If he likes it the way it is, I would think twice before making an irreversible change.
