You did a really nice job! I could have never done it that good. If it isn't finished I don't buy it.

Nicely done - I especially like the wear and scuff marks you added.

Thanks to you all!

I wanted the Webley to have a used look and show off the incredible detail in Wade's resin cast. :D

Thanks Wade for a fantastic prop! :notworthy:

Rub-n-Buff? I love that stuff.

How much prep work did you have to do? That casting looks amazing.

My only suggestion would be to use a dark wash in the grip panels to accentuate the checkering. For example:

That's really cool!

I'll re-work the grips to get the same result.

Painting anything to make it resemble distressed metal is a difficult task, to say the least.

As for the grips, I'm all for the look that Oildale posted, but remember, the WG doesn't have wood grips. They are a molded composite. My grips don't have the dark/light contrast between the bumps and crevices. But whatever looks best to you!

Michael :TOH:
Hi Michael,
Thanks for that info
Could you please send me some pics so that I can use them as a reference to paint the grips accurately?

Yes, he's about....Just working his <expletive> off trying to fill all the late year orders from 2011...

I'm sure once he's back up to speed he'll be back here, but he's been hit and miss online due to heavy work and balancing that with getting the rest the doctor (and myself and others) kept telling him he needed to take..

He's good..But busy either resting or working..

Ben is right! I'm still here just been having a hard time keeping up with the forums as well as all the doctors appointments and mandatory bed rest. I'm slowly but surely coming around and my apprentice is back after a few months away so I have help in finishing those orders. I did get slammed at the end of 2011 and I pretty much wasn't able to work for the whole month of November and half of December.

I'm working on an 'official' announcement with a little more details about what's going on and some plans for 2012. Things have been extremely hectic and I've been out of action for a while but we're getting a handle on it and getting back on track. Some of you who have been waiting for your goodies will be getting surprises in the mail in the next couple weeks. :D

More later... gotta go sew some phone holsters.
