Took possession of my new 8 ft Crease-n-crusader whip today. Was also fortunate enough to shake hands with Mr. Damrel and speak with him in person for a short while. Very nice, courteous fellow.

It is some beautiful work, and I can scarcely see how he sells them for this price. If you have been thinking of getting one, you should go ahead and pull the trigger.

Hey I brought mine to the summit and it was incredible. It cracked like a charm and I am still amazed at the quality of the whip!

Dusty makes a very good whip for an incredibly low price.

I used my Crease N Corral "Raiders" whip for the target competition at Fort Mac this year.
I wish I knew you had one of Dusty's whips as well. Would have loved to have seen it.

That Crease N' Crusader is a really beautiful whip. I just put in an order for a Raiders whip from Dusty. It won't be here until May, but I'll be sure to post pics when it arrives.

Its Dusty you need to speak to, he may very well declare a lower value as to avoid big import costs.

If I understand correctly, you're saying he would put a lower value on all the fancy forms you have to include for international

shipping so that the receiver wouldn't have to pay as large an import tax. I wouldn't suggest this. It's possible but it's dishonest.

We don't want to give whip makers a bad name, because it's sort of an honor thing, people give us the money and hope we send

them whip. We've heard of several occurances around here where people have paid for a whip, and they never receive it. This

I don't have one, but I do know the steel cable doesn't hurt the whip's performance at all. If anything, I would be more worried about Dusty using only bolsters on his whips, but he found a way around the problems that would normally cause. If you look

on youtube, you will find I think two videos on his whips, one by out member here who's username is Kwad, and one by Robby

at the whip basics. Kwad cracks it, Robby does a big review on it.

In no way am i trying to rub anyone up the wrong way and i would not try to bring anyone's good name into any sort of bad light.

I've been importing and exporting for 10 years and unless the law has changed recently i'm not aware of having to include any form of documentation when shipping an item such as a bullwhip if the sender sees fit.

Any invoice can be sent through letter post and the item sent as movie prop, or however the items usually get sent, and then on the customs declaration a lower value can be specified, and this will ensure a lower customs charge to pay in the UK. Off the top of my head i can't remember anyone ever being bothered in the slightest about doing this. Its only when iv'e bought containers and pallets and larger items that obviously you need all of the correct shipping invoices and the like, but we are talking about one single whip.

Whips not turning up due to people not making them is an entirely different subject altogether.

I do however see things from your point of view when all said and done about people's business and how they conduct it, so i take your point.

On a slight side note, when you have to give the UK tax man as much as we do, you will understand why people don't like paying a single penny over what they have to.

I know that a lot of places the taxes are unfair, but they are what they are. I had to ship a splitter international recently, went

to Rio de Janero Brazil. I had to put the price of the item on the customs form. I just figured you had to most places as well (

was my first international shipping ).

There's no good reason not to get one, regardless of the price.

It's very satisfying to handle, and is extremely accurate. I could compare it with other well-known makers, but don't want to get into comparisons/rankings, etc., and besides that, I love and enjoy and appreciate all of my whips (I'm down to three right now). This one's just a fine, fine piece of craftsmanship, plain and simple.

I would enjoy seeing these pictures aswell. I haven't been able to keep a Raiders for myself with all the orders and I would love to see how they are darkening up in comparison to the roo hide whips.

I had my C-n-C 7 footer out for some practice yesterday.

There's a fenced basketball court in my housing complex with a rubberized surface. I like the space because it's enclosed and I can practice facing the gate so I know no one can get behind me without me knowing. I ended up drawing a fair crowd of kids ages 9-3. They were very impressed with my cracking prowess.

My son (age 7) and daughter (age 4) were very keen to explain how the whip works and that the cracker was traveling faster than the speed of sound.

One of the boys asked if I was in any of the Indiana Jones movies.

BTW kwad, that's a fine looking hat in your avatar!
