I stumbled on this while following a lead to a flightsuit: http://www.cockpitusa.com/store/Vintage ... acket.html Is it just a US Wings jacket??

Nah, This one's been around a while. I'd really like to see one in person though.

Re: Look What I Found:
I figured as such. That's what I get for being scarce these days
Re: Look What I Found:
Well. If it makes you feel any better. This is the first time I had seen it. So, at least you are not alone ! Interesting site. Kind of pricey, but interesting. Thanks for sharing. W>
Re: Look What I Found:
There's a post about it here somewhere, was it Castor D who got one?
Remember this kind of jacket is a like many other traditional working utility jackets from the 1940's 50's.

Re: Look What I Found:
Funny you should mention that.....when I read the description on the site I thought "hmm I've never seen the guys over at COW mention Indy's jacket as an oil-diggers jacket?" That was the first time I've seen that sentiment.

YOWZA! The price has skyrocketed since I last saw that link!
Here are a couple old threads on this jacket:
http://indygear.com/cow/viewtopic.php?f ... il+driller" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I actually like the half-belt design better than the typical Indy back.

Re: Look What I Found:
I LOVE the half belts and I think they were much more prevalent during the time that the movies are set in. That's why I've chosen one (not this one) for my period accurate adventurer gear...

The oil driller is nice. for an off the rack jacket. But not cheap.
I just got my Aero 50's Half Belt Deluxe from Scotland (in person) and its incredible.

Thank you fellas.

Very nice! ... ideal for the (Northern hemisphere) season upon us. That would keep you cozy and unscratched even if you were dragged behind Santa's sleigh!61ButteMT wrote:Thank you fellas.

That is a sweet looking jacket. I really dig the nice short length to the waist. Man, I wish my Legend was that short. Don't forget to post some pics when it arrives.

Actually this was completely independent of that pipe dream that Dawg and I were chasing. Rick over at filmjackets.com (rick5150 here) did it almost exactly as we had talked about and did an AWESOME job! He's also doing Indy jackets. Check 'em out!
