Thanks for the comparison shots!...I’m a bit torn between them….I prefer the fit in the shoulders and the arms especially the sleeve length on the large…That said, the fit in the body looks better to me on the medium…I think both look good on you though…

Todd's jackets in medium are also 22". I think it should be max 21".TheExit148 wrote:Medium looks a lot better then the large. I can't believe the medium is "22" across the chest.

CRB,
I understand where you're coming from. And from some angles I really do prefer the large, especially from behind. But the diameter of the sleeves in the upper arms bothered me too much. I felt like I just needed to start flapping and I'd take off. Maybe that's why they're called US Wings
It is a shame that they don't offer a long arm option. I might take this to a tailor and have the sleeves lengthened.
Ian,
I was torn too. It was a tough decision to make. I almost just returned it, but it is such a gorgeous hide I really wanted to see how it will look after it's broken in. The fact that the measurements are so close to my Wested made me decide to take a chance on this one.
When my wallet has recovered I think I'll plan on getting my next jacket, which will be the most screen accurate jacket I can find, from whomever makes it.
Then I'll be set. Probably. Maybe....
Regards,
Brian

I read your response a few times, Eric, and wondered how drinking water would address the sleeve problem.
Yeah. I need a nap.

Maybe he's hoping that one can carry a lot of water-weight in one's arms so that the sleeves are more form-fitting?Michaelson wrote:I read your response a few times, Eric, and wondered how drinking water would address the sleeve problem.

Works for me, but let's not go there.
Re: USW Striated Lamb Legend, US Made
I wouldn't mind tightening the sleeves on mine, how do I do it ? Water - hot, cold ? presumably just applied to the arms ? How to dry ? Won't it make the sleeves even shorter ?

Re: USW Striated Lamb Legend, US Made
Congrats, ShanghaiJack. Overall, I prefer the look of the Medium. I wish their longs applied only to sleeves
I have a wested ROLA and by looking at your chart, it appears to be closer to the legend medium as well. I might still try a medium long. I'm not necessarily after 100% SA. Just a good fitting jacket in the spirit of Indy, you know.
Thanks for the follow-up. Glad to see you got a chance to tour the place. Sarge did that for me last year as well. He was so excited about the upcoming Legends. He's very proud of the place.
Hope to see more pics once you get some wear!

In terms of the sleeve length overall length of the jacket and width, it looks like the M is a much better fit. The Large has the nice draping effect (pleating) in the back due to the extra width. Once broken in, it will be a second skin.

Re: USW Striated Lamb Legend, US Made
Thanks everybody.
After having had the medium for a few days and trying it on and checking it out now and then, but not wearing it if you know what I mean, I am beginning to think that I actually do prefer the large. I can't believe how much I've hemmed and hawed over this jacket, it's getting ridiculous. I am going to call Rita today and either exchange it for the large, preferably the same one they originally sent me , or just return it and get a Wested Hero or a Todd's.
I'm very tempted to just return it, but that leather is so dang nice!
Thank you all for listening to my ramblings....Hello, my name is ShanghaiJack and I am a gearhead.

If you are going to return it, and drop that $$$ on it, I'd put it towards a custom Hero. Get the exact sizing where you want it on the jacket.

Re: USW Striated Lamb Legend, US Made
The Exit148,
I thought about it, but decided that I want the heavier weight jacket. This will be my winter jacket. While I was living in Japan, and the winters were milder I was able to make do with my Wested goat and occasionally a sweater, but since moving back to the States I have found that the Wested just doesn't cut it in the heart of winter. I will, however, be buying a Wested Hero as soon as I have the funds in the lightest weight lambskin they offer for my three-four season jacket, so eventually it will be the best of both worlds, or so I hope.

Any owners of this beauty willing to post some pics now that you've had a while to break them in? I'm really interested in how this SL looks when well worn. Beautiful jackets, either way.
Re: USW Striated Lamb Legend, US Made
Aye....I've had this for just under a year now....I've done nothing to it other than simply wear it...Still loving it..

Wow, Ian, that jacket looks great! Do you, by any chance have any pics of it when it was new? I'd love to see how much of the grain was there when you got it and how much has developed since.

Wow x 2, Ian. That is a freaking sweet looking jacket. Definitely pushing me towards this over any other right now (I'm in the market for a new jacket). Have you had any issues with tearing at all?
Thanks
Thanks
Re: USW Striated Lamb Legend, US Made
Aye, I posted it back when I first got it...

Indyoriginal: I've not torn it yet, but I assume it would do if I got it snagged on anything..I look after this jacket the most and try to avoid things that might scratch or tear it....It is lamb skin after all and one of the weaker leathers..

Thanks Ian for the link. It looks like it has really developed some nice grain. I've noticed that mine, which I've only had for a couple of weeks now, is wrinkling up nicely.
IndyOriginal, this is one beautiful jacket. If you don't mind a heavier leather, this is no Todd's lambskin, you will love this jacket.

Nice jacket, Ian, and it looks to be a near perfect fit and length.
