Announcing: The East Bay Whipcrackers
If you live in the SF Bay Area, and you are interested in hanging out with a group to crack whips with, then look no further.
Today was our first official group meeting.
From Left to Right: Chris, Josh, Baldwyn, Me, and "Whipsmart Pete"
PM me if you want to find out how to get a hold of me, or just look us up on Facebook: East Bay Whipcrackers.

Re: Announcing: The East Bay Whipcrackers
You know, 12 years ago I lived there and would be more than glad to join the group now... However, I live in VA now.
If I ever make my way East to visit my family, I'd love to make my way to a gathering. Although I might have to borrow a whip.
Congratulations on forming the group! Keep us updated with pics and stories! Please keep the trips to the ER minimal!

They talk about gang problems in our cities... This is either another or the solution
...if you don't show up with a bullwhip, you get to hold the targets.
Looks terrific. All the best, gents.
Re: Announcing: The East Bay Whipcrackers
Thats Awesome Daren!
Looks like a ton o fun!
Just last week on 10/30/11 I got together with 9 Whipping peeps! John Leonetti, Jillian Stein, Jake Johnson,Veronica,Lauren Polizzi (the Art Director from Indy 4) Michelle Nyree, & three of my good buddies Jay, Marc & Brian for a Whip-A-Palooza! I really didn't know if anyone would show, but everyone did! We had so much fun trying each others whips out & cracking crazy, we were out there all after noon! I wish you could have been there, only if you lived a little closer man

Yesterday, the East Bay Whipcrackers had a great meeting on Treasure island!
Here's a video I put together . . .
Enjoy! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e4a6LvxAt80
And a few photos . . .

Anybody recognize the building in the background of the last photo?

That's great that you have a chance to meet up together and crack some whips. I wish there were more whipcrackers in my area.
Sure Daren, isn't that Nazi airport building from LC ?

Re: Announcing: The East Bay Whipcrackers
Your music matched the video perfectly, Daren. Thanks for the pics and video. My son and I had a great time there (I'm the only one without a hat). Also, for those of you who had not been to Treasure Island lately, check out the naked lady dancing at the beginning of the video. She's 40 feet tall. Looking forward to the next get together.
Re: Announcing: The East Bay Whipcrackers
Ah ha! So this is where you were talking posting our EB Whip-crackers stuff to on COW! I have to say, though Baldwyn's comment is an old one, that you are MORE than just "decent instruction", Daren. Very patient, and a great teacher is more like it. Thanks for getting us together again yesterday!

Re: Announcing: The East Bay Whipcrackers
It looks like the East Bay gang rides (cracks) again this Sunday (tentatively)! One of our members, Chris (Mutiny) is expecting a package tomorrow from Mr. Joseph Strain! If that's the case, we're most likely going to meet up.
So, if anyone who lives in the SF Bay Area still hasn't gotten the memo, let me know if you're interested and I'll let you know where and when we are meeting.
Yours,
Daren Henry W

Great to see you guys, but boy am I sore, and sunburned too. Next time, more suntan lotion. Here's a better, in-focus, shot of the new Joseph Strain 8 foot Crystal Skull whip:

I never get tired of seeing those Joe Strain CS.
As much as I like the looks of the Jacka, I still think that Joe's version should have been the one on Ford's belt.

Baldwyn with a nice looking forward flick!
Marc getting ready to crack his whip!
Jorgen working in the overhead plane . . .

Awwwwwww, shucks!
Well, thank your for saying that, Chris. I do what I can. I wish we had more time yesterday. We only got to crack for about an hour and a half before heading to the movie, so I felt so rushed. I look forward to the next session. I'd love to be able to spend more time with some more of our more "intermediate" folks and work on some new cracks. But at the same time, I'm so glad that we had so many noobs yesterday, its great to know our club has appeal to folks who aren't necessarily Indy-obsessed (like myself and some of us others!)

Re: Announcing: The East Bay Whipcrackers
Great video, as always. You do a really nice job with the cuts and transitions and putting everything to music.
Whose firey red/yellow stock whips? Very cool looking.
You're two-handed work is much more fluid. It's getting harder (for me) to tell which is your dominant hand.
Regards,
Indiana Jeff
