What do you think of this crack?

Post by sylviarosat »

Hi everybody,
i didn't had to much time to practice the last few weeks ,so as i didn't work to much on routine i try a few cracks, new for me,the one i'm struggling with at the moment is the four corners, still in the study of that move,i need to understand how this crack works, then make it understand to my brain:-)
However i've been tryingg also some neew tricks like the one you can see in the video and i wanted to let me know what do you think of this move?i still can get it crack everytime but it's on the good way!
http://vimeo.com/30383243" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Maybe some of you will be interested in trying it too.
any tipps and suggestion, honnest one, are greatly appreciated, helps me getting better:-)
Thanks!

Here is an excellent video made by Paul Nolan and Lauren Wickline, showing how to build up to the four corners, and they're using

the performance hybrids like you. It's a tough crack, I can't get it, but then again, all I have it 8' whips with 8" handles.

Sylvia,

I think that is a very cool move. It would be interesting to see how it could be incorporated into a multi-crack routine.

Keep up the good work!

Hi Riku,
i have seen the video and a couples of others too,the video are verry good,i tried to reproduce the move but i have the impression i'm not reproducing the move correctly, but yeah i think if you are able to do this move and understand how it should feel then you might be able to do it with most of the types of whips, well, maybe not with the long long ones but that's different.

Of course i'm not expecting any big big reaction like waow ,great, faboulous ,or anything like that, that'snot a Big Big trick or something really amzing, but i just wanted to hear your opinion as public ,audience with enjoy watch whipcracking ,if you though this move was worth putting in a multiple crack routine ,or if this move is not so entertaining,of course not as single trick but in a routine. Also i never saw that move and i have to say it's a cool trick i like to do it and i know many of you who are training whipcracking also ,might like to try it too, maybe :TOH:
Well thank you for the peoples who took the time to answer what they thought about it!
It's appreciated!

When you do the behind the back crack, you could turn it into an upside down coachmans. To me, this would be difficult as I'm

terrible at coachman's cracks. But it would really cool in your combo.

'crack' is also the name of free-base cocaine that is smoked. One of the worse kind, and one of the most addictive illegal drugs out there.

I can do the coachman's crack, but then upside down cachman's crack would make the crack down and not up right?little bit like i'm doing but with something more, what would i need to change to that move behing the back i'm doing to transform him into an upside down coachman's crack?do you have a video?

sylviarosat...just keep trying. Don't get frustrated, break the trick down on it's basic move's and alway try it with your weak hand as well. There is a saying....A Black Belt is just a White Belt who never quit.

I'm going to explain this as best as I can.

What it looks to me, to do this, is just take the momentum of the whip when you did the crack behind your back, and work it into

a coachman's. It'll take some doing, but I think you can get it :TOH:

I hope it works out, I saw what you were doing and thought it might, not only look cool, but it would set you up with a way to

continue on with more cracks.

I just watched How It's Made and the episode showed Paul making a whip and cracking it. Wow a lot goes into it for sure.

Yeah, I still have the original on my DVR.

BTW, there is a LOT more than they actually show, they only showed plaiting on the first belly, the didn't show ANY binding, ANY

bolster attaching/cutting out, any of that. Paul told me they took like, 14 hours of video and put it down to those 5 minutes or so.

For things like this, they really should use at last 15 minutes of the show, 30 would be better.

Yeah trying to cram 3-4 subjects and commercials into that allotted time must be a real pain for the editor. They are also trying to retain people with attention deficit I guess. But agree with you
