First pair of Alden 403s...

Post by Ian »

New leather smell once again, permeates my house... :D

I just wanted to share;

Having pondered it for months, I finaly took the plunge and ordered myself some new Alden 403s that I found on Ebay....

All's I can do is just echo what has been said before about them...They're amazing from day one..I've seen countless shots of these boots here on COW and read so many reviews, but these surpassed my expectations....They feel so sturdy and the leather is thick and, man, these are heavy boots.. :shock: ....I also ordered my exact size...I know that people say that they run half a size bigger, but these seem to be spot on.....Maybe that varies...dunno.. :-k

I just need to get myself some shoes trees and get using them so that they don't look so new....

Very pleased!!! :D :D :D

They look beautiful, dude! I'm heading to NYC in March, so I'm gonna pick up a pair of 403's when I'm there. Fantastic and congrats!

Thanks dudes. I'm not total SA type dude, so I can't really comment too much on the colour. They are or seem to be darker than the 405s. The leather seems slightly waxy to the touch so I assume whatever that is makes them naturally darker.
Another thing I noticed is that they are more pointy at the toe than I ever noticed in other photos. Awesome boots! I may have to get another pair. ;)

Congrads, Ian, on a fine pair of Alden's. ;) :tup: They will serve you well. I've worn them most every day since received, and have accompanied me to far away lands. They will only look better and feel more comfortable with use.

These are 403's that I received last year. The photo was taken after a looonng work day in Zambia. I simply put some leather lotion on the boots and wore them unmercifully, rain, shine, etc., through all kinds of weather, just natural distressing.

LOL. Tundy, I'll take some shots with my 'plates of meat' in them (thats one for you Tex ;) )
Tex. Now having Aldens, I can fully understand how they can hold up for years with what you put them through. The leather is so thick it reminds me of the leather on my Aero jacket. Even the smell come to think of it.
