Funny thing happened to me today

Post by Bruce Wayne »

I was cutting some trees down at the edge of the pond on our property & I was using my ship to keep them from falling into the pond. When I was done I went to check the mail & I noticed that something belonging to another house in the subdivision was in our mailbox. It was understandable since it was the same size & had the same return address on it. I started walking it to the front of the subdivision & I was over halfway there (we live towards the back) when I realized that I still had my whip on my belt!

Anyways, i delivered it to the proper address & was oin my way back about ready to turn onto the road that we live on when a car pulled up along side me & braked hard. All of a sudden I hear "Oh, Hey, Charlie!" It was another neighbour in the subdivision that is a police officer! He had his duty belt & service weapon along with 2 extra magazines on the passenger seat! Turns out all he saw was the back side of a someone he didn't recognize walking in the subdivision with a whip on their belt & he couldn't see that it was me. We chatted for a bit & then parted ways.

He could of given me alot of grief, but he didn't. He is not that kind of cop.

The moral of the story is you never know who is watching you, so be nice & neighbourly.

Thanx!!!
Charlie

They can't arrest you or give a ticket for having a bullwhip...

We had a calf get out of our neighbors yard once and I used an early "whip" that I made to move it back. It turned out someone

driving by called the police, not complaining about the whip but the calf being out as they had to swerve to miss it. The cop saw

I had a whip, we talked for a minute and he thanked me for helping the thing get back, didn't say a thing about the whip.

I wasn't too concerned about being arrested or detained or of having my whip removed from my posession.

If the cop didn't know you he'd probably just "casually" question you about it

Our house was broken into back in early May. I drove up to our carport behind the house during lunchtime, and the door had been kicked open. My first instinct was to grab my whip (which I keep behind my seat in my truck at all times) and get out of the car and check to see if anyone was still around. Thought that I would use the whip to make a thunderous crack if need be, to scare someone. I walked back down our driveway, called 911, and within a minute a cop van was there. As the officer walked up the driveway, I identified myself to him, and realized that I still had the whip coiled in my hand! He commented said something like "you've got a whip there," and I replied with something like "yeah, and I know how to use it," to which he replied "too bad you didn't get to use it on your intruder here!" I was surprised.
