New De Longis In the Works

Post by iwantamorganreelbad1 »

I'm planning on buying a De Longis whip from Dusty. The specs:

*7ft
*Light brown/black knots
*Jacka transition (wish to break in myself)
*Standard 13.5 inch handle
*Indy 4 knots
*Standard Aussie fallhitch
*Latigo fall

So, whaddaya think? I decided on 7 feet, since DarenHenry, Clarke Bynum, and hollywood over on COW chose 7 feet.

Now, how did this longing begin?
Well, I was on Youtube one day and came across Mr. Bynum cracking his new De Longis whip, and i instantly decided on what was my next whip was going to be.

So I emailed Mr. Damrel.
That's it! Please post comments below, I need all the advice I can get.

Yep, i took your advice to heart riku. I chose Jacka transition because it would be like breaking in a real Jacka and it would be a real challenge to break it in.

But I like challenges, and I also like trying new things.

By the way, you can highlight my name and paste it, it'll be faster.

I cut and paste a lot of things. It'd get in the way

I'm glad you too my advice, I hope it works out for you 8)

Just keep in mind for it to break in well will take a long long time, don't overtorque it or flex it with your hands in hopes of loosening

it. The transition on my most recent whip was brought out some KIND of like a jacka, it shows little sign of loosening much even

after a good 10,000 cracks ( estimate, It is probably more actually , been using it a lot )

It's not that far away. Well, time did seem much longer to me when I was 12, then again I'm not that much older than 12...

edit: lol , me and you are talking back and forth thru 2 different indy forums

Oh, btw, as far as I know what makes the transitions on jacka's normal whips so tight is the thicker cowhide as bolsters, not as

much the binding, so it will be a different breaking in, though the outcome should be similar.
