My New US Wings Legend Texas Steerhide US Made!

Post by Bogie1943 »

Greetings all,

On Tuesday I received my brand new Legend Texas Steerhide from US Wings. I just want to start off by saying that I am so very impressed with this jacket. Wow! My first impression was honestly one of the best I have ever had with an Indy jacket. Of course there was that wonderful new leather smell that flew out of the box upon opening. _ ;)

Now for the details. Lets start with the pattern itself. Very simply put, I have to say I love it. It has everything I could ask for in a Raiders jacket. The slim fit everyone has been speaking about is right on the money. This jacket fits me very very well. It is definitely one of the best fitting jackets I now currently own.

Let's talk leather. My friends, the steerhide turned out to be just a wonderful choice. Of course there is the obvious distressed look to the leather but let me tell you the other more wonderful properties. This hide has a tough thickness and weight yet is extremely soft, smooth, and supple. I am absolutely in love with this hide. I am interested to see it darken with a treatment of Pecard's however that will not be for some time.

The satin the lining of the jacket is, well, there is no other word for it but luxurious. I ended up liking it way more than I thought I would.

So, there is a little review for the time being. I will be adding more details and photos later on. Until then here are some shots of myself wearing the jacket. Thanks for reading!

Cheers

Remind me to proof read fellas  Thank you all for the kind words thus far! Michaelson, I agree with you, the fit is like a custom! The fit of the shoulders and arms holes is just perfect.

I picked up the same jacket (US Made) a few weeks back; the slim fit is perfect since I wear it under my body armor, for fire protection, when flying helicopters (rotary) here in Afghanistan. That’s why I chose the heavier steer over lamb or goat. I started off with an XL Long but exchanged it for a XL Regular, to get a better fit in the sleeve length. US Wings customer support is fantastic to us over here. Now if they would only let me carry my M1917...

Cheers,

It looks really nice on you. Great looking jacket indeed.
But is it me or does it look a bit too long? Guess it all depends on taste.
Anyway, enjoy it! And wear it in good health!

I had the same impression at one point but now I don't even think about it. Honestly, this jacket is so comfortable and fits so well I am just enjoying the heck out of it.
