A tad pricy but appears to be a nice shawl sweater.

If you are interested, jump on the Duluth one quick. The past couple of winters they've sold out really quickly.

If I'm going to spend $150 on a sweater I'll wait until Magnoli is taking orders again.

For those interested in Shawl Cardigan, Eddie Bauer has theirs for half off today only as part of their 12 days of Christmas!

I wear medium clothing, but I wear Eddie Bauer smalls because I prefer the tighter fit in the body and chest. I won't say size down for everything, but for their shirts I do. But I think you'll be alright to buy your normal size for a sweater.

Hey Dog,

Normal size or go up one for the Eddie Bauer, I wear large in all their shirts but went XL for the Shawl Neck. Best to try it on instead of ordering.

Trying it on is definitively the best advice. Do you think you could post some pictures Interbak of your cardigan?

Hey Dog,

Here's a shot of the E-B cardigan, it's a darker than this in real life, the flash washed it out.

H&M just had a commercial for shawl necked cards for $14.95. Unfotunately, in the US there is no online store but anyone near a major city should be able to stop in and see what's up with them.

Too bad fro me that the closest store is 10 hours away ](*,)

Well, I have been dropping hints for the Eddie Bauer cardigan to my wife, so I may get this one for Christmas. [-o<
And since were heading up to Portland for the holiday I think I will need to stop in to H&M and see what they have in stock. I recall one of our folks here got one from H&M several years back and it looked fantastic.

Since Magnoli isn't taking any more orders at the moment what are the other online vendors that carry these? I saw the Duluth one but I tried to make a purchase from them a while back for another item and despite having a disclaimer saying to email them for international shipping charges they never replied to any of my emails so I doubt I will be purchasing from them anytime soon.

This one from Eddie Bauer has some great substance, looks great with my hats and in the cold makes a perfect layer under ones jacket. Perfect for a rainy day up at Multnomah Falls.

Thanks guys! Most appreciated. I dig on this one for sure but I still want to get Magnoli's as well. I think I'll save that one for next season when things are a little more flush. That way I can swap between a grey & brown.

Just placed an order for a Eddie Bauer, had been checking and "was" limited qty, when I put one in the basket said it was sold out, then a day later, site said no longer available. Well to day just for kicks I clicked on the link, it was there, with the same limited qty coment. Major difference I was able to buy one. So if anyone was thinking about it, nows your chance. 89.00 down to 39.99 plus shipping. What the heck, I want a Magnoli and I will get one, but now it'll probably be this summer (comon summer), plus a nice dark grey will go nicely with my Penman travel hat me thinks. And yes I'll post pic's when I get it.

Got my Duluth Trading cardigan. It's very nice, but I have to send it back because it's too big. So if you're 6' and 200 pounds, the XL will be too big for you.

It's a rich chocolate color, very pretty. Matched my Penman nicely. When I get the correct size I'll get some MOTB gear pics up.

Heres a pic, not the best I'm trin my camera I got from X-mas. Still needs to played with. I'll post some more soon.

Oh and I was looking at that GAP cardigan (On line) and if it's like the dark blue one there's a off color peice of material behinf the buttons, has any one picked one of these up? Curious on there take.
It's not SA, but nice. I like my cardigans all in one color, saw a nice one at Banana Republic, but it had off color shoulders. ](*,)

With all the cardigan threads up and about here and on FL, I had to renew my search for one of these great sweaters. I followed all the leads and found items that either were too expensive, not my style, or out of stock.

Yesterday, we went to the mall, and there in Macys, lo and behold, we found this:

Image

Its got everythng I wanted except its not brown. Its dark gray, a wool/synthetic blend so it doesnt itch, has handwarmer pockets, and an overall bulky knit with multiple patterns. And the price was right, being on clearance, plus a register discount, and another percentage off for opening a Macys charge account. Next year, I'll start shopping earlier and get a brown one.

That's a great take on MOTB, Croft! The cardigan looks suberb with your gear, but I would also like to mention how great your jacket looks (I LOVE the creases on the sleeves), and how jealous I am of your hat!

Thanks guys, and Adventure Dog, you don't have to be jealous, just paitant. Order your very own AB CS lid. Bought this onebefore the movie came in hopes in having for the film, no such luck, but still love wearing it. Thought was the best choice for my take on the MOTB look.

Thanks also to you Mitch, much appreacated. :TOH:

Fall and Winter are coming, and so I dredge up this thread in the hopes that people will alert myself and others to finding the elusive and much desired MOTB Brown Shawl Necked Cardigan.
Please keep your eyes out. I have an ill fitting black cardigan that I would love to get rid of in favor of a brown one.
As far as I can see, the best choice (and most consistent) is Magnoli's but he is out of stock. Any other leads?

Not a dig, but Magnoli isn't out of stock, he's not producing them at this time. Been bantered about and I thought he was going to start up agin, but alas, no. Maybe next winter. :(

But that is a nice find if only it had pockets, maybe this year there might a close enough that is close enough. \:D/
