First Crack on My New Custom Joe Strains- Video & Pics!!!

Post by TREX »

Hello folks,
Trying out my New Joe Strain Custom Whips on 8/3/2011 Video-

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F86ihBIC-WY" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

8/3/2011 is also My Grandfather's 97th Birthday!Happy Birthday Primo! Primo Designed the Crest on these Whips! He's an Awesome artist & he drew up 5 different pages full of little designs & idea sketches, Well, I picked one that liked for my whips, cleaned it up on photoshop, & sent it to Joe Strain along with My specs on the type of custom whips I wanted-
These are Aussie/Zorro style whips-the big one is 9 feet long 16 plait , red with black highlights with Primo's design etched on the sterling silver ferrule!! & the little whip is a half scale of the big whip, complete with etching too! I really love these Whips!! & of course they crack well & look Great, Thanks to the artistry of Joe Strain- I hope you guys enjoy, Here they are-

Those are REALLY nice, I like that design a lot also :)

It seems you get a new whip every couple weeks, which means they've been on order for a while, what you got coming right now?

That's a very unique and beautiful whip. You're quite the skilled whips-man I must say from watching the video.

Well. Actually I got those a while ago, but wanted to wait till my Grandpa's birthday in August to crack them- I wish I had more whips in the mail, but I'm flat broke right now probably because of my out of control whip purchasing :). I am working on a couple of cool Whip handles & when I get them closer to being done I will post some pics, I have a feeling people will really like em too!

Rex,

Those whips are amazing! I love the choice of handle pattern.
The 1/2 scale mini is just too cool!

Is that a "The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly" t-shirt?

Thank you, I left the patterns up to Joe I told him I just wanted it to look cool! & of course he delivered!
& yes that is a Good Bad & Ugly T-Shirt, I'm a huge Eastwood fan, I got a ton of Clint T-Shirts & I own a working replica of the guns Clint used in Josey Wales -a 1847 Colt Walker- It's a really heavy gun too-
here's a pic-Image

I REALLY like those whips, they are really nice, the design you mentioned as the family crest i really great, your grandpa did a

really good job on that. Even the mini whip cracks better than any whip I've made yet

Thank You,
My Grandpa is quite an artist, he use to make all kinds of little cute animals out of old cat food cans & junk he'd find & He still even now, sketches new designs to show me all the time (I can't believe he's 97 years old, Grandpa Rocks!)
As far as this whip design I knew I couldn't go wrong with Joe Strain. Joe's work is second to none!! & of course he produced a really stunning piece for me & on top of that he's genuinely a really nice guy too!
I'm sure your whips crack just fine, it's just that joe has had a few more years of practice in whip making is all :)
thaks for your kind words-
