Just received 10' ROLA Crease and Coral

Post by twistedotter »

And all I can say is HOOOOOLYYYY COOOOOW! It is *sweet*. I'll try to get some pictures posted ASAP, but I couldn't be happier! The turnaround was a llittle under 6 weeks for me, but it was worth every second. I haven't had a chance to test it out yet as it actually rained a bit today (it hasn't rained here in months) and I didn't want to drag it through wet grass, but I'll give it a twirl as soon as I can. I had -- and still have -- a couple (6 and 10 ft) of decent wood-handled bullwhips that I got when I was a kid. I've always loved those whips and I became *very* good with them...but I always dreamed of...well...what I got today. Dusty could not have done a better job. I am beyond satisfied. :whip:

:WLWOP:

not 100% worthless, but I do love seeing his work. Let me know how much it loosens up compared to a whip with a couple plaited

bellys , instead of all bolsters. ( if you've had experience with them ) I've heard whips, like dusty's, who's internals consist of all

bolsters ( minus the cable core ) act as if any other whip would when fairly new, but after a while, they get too loose.

If he's found some way around this I want in  let me know, and again, PICS PLEASE.

Have fun with it, and congrats :TOH:

All the reviews I've seen regarding Dusty's work have been very positive.
He's actually been making whips for a while, so he must have found a way to make his style work.

His construction methods intrique me and his prices are very fair.
I plan on ordering a whip from him very soon.

Otter,

If you don't mind telling, how long was the wait time?

Right around 6 weeks. I communicated with Dusty a couple of times and his shipping date estimate never wavered. He shipped the exact day he predicted when I ordered.

There are many people here and on indylounge who own them, everybody loves them, I've only ever heard one criticism of his

whips, they are TOO CHEAP. I'm serious, that is the ONLY criticism I've EVER heard of his whips.

For what you get they are in fact too cheap. He could charge $100 more for it and still sell just as many.

I should have my CNC Raiders by the end of next week (Dusty told me he was currently working on mine \:D/ ).
I'll post some pics and a full review of the whip once it has arrived and I've had a chance to give it a test drive.

Robby (the guy that runs the Whip-Basics website) has posted a youtube video where he reviews Dusty's "Crease 'n Crusader" (LC style) whip. He admitidly does not like "Indy style" whips, but, gave Dusty's work a very favorable review.
