NHD-David Garrison

Post by garytelecastor »

I am sitting here at my computer having accomplished an effort that began 30 years ago.
From the moment I saw the Cairo scene in ROLA I jonesd for a hat such as that.
I searched very earnestly for 10 years and I could not find one. Then I happened
across the Fedora Lounge site and the guys over there directed me here. Today,
I received my ROLA Fedora from David Garrison @ Garrison Hatters. I am truly
knocked out by the craftsmanship, and artistry that David put into this hat.
I absolutely Love it. Fit's great. I have a rather round face, and David was kind
enough to make the F & B brim 3". Great bash. Great look.

This may be shameless promotion, but do business with the man. He was nothing
if not accommodating. Very professional, very nice, and extremely stellar in his
customer service skills.

So David, if you read this, Thanks again.

BTW-I will be posting pics tomorrow or Weds.
Thanks for letting this old man drone on.

Looking forward to seeing the photos! :TOH:

Oh, and you're not the only 'old man' who 'drones' around here, so no problem. ;)

I would love to take a look at one of David's hats! I have heard great things... but never got to really see one of his creations. Now if only someone in the Twin Cities area had one..... :anxious:

"Shamless Promotions" encouraged and personally endorsed. :TOH:  :whip: :Plymouth:

I am glad you are pleased. I have turned downed earlier request to "adjust" the standard things I do to my hats. Mainly due to just not being certain in myself in getting it right. Now that I have been working on hats for over two years, I have gained many more skills and confidence in my habberdashing techniques. When you contacted me, Gary, I felt I was "up to the challenge." I look forward to some pics.
Hey Oklahoma, not to side track Gary's post, I'd like to see some pics of your hat, too. Send me some if you get a chance.

Hey :M: and :BD: Good to see you two, I haven't been around these parts for a while. Temporary absences, though. Getting back around to checking in.

I should mention that I gave David and a couple of other artists on this site
a little challenge.
I bought an Fed IV and it was way too small in the brim. So I asked David, et. al.
to make the brim 3" front and back. I won't be able to post the pics til Tues.
I am going out of town, but I LOVE this hat.
Thanks you guys and gals.-g
