Kohls Close Enough Shirt

Post by elscottomagnifico »

The military/adventurer look seems to be coming into style this year. The close enoughs have been popping up at retail stores more often.

White, flint gray and pale khaki all seem passable as an Indy shirt depending on the look you're going for.

Thanks for the heads up, wish these were in stock last week when I had a 30% off coupon. I also work there so I'll be keeping an eye out for this one.
If you go into the young mens section, they have another close enough, Helix id the brand. No tan/kahki, but if you buy a white one then dye it in hot tea, comes out pertty good.
Thanks again, and don't forget to expect great things. ;)

I may need to drop by for a look. I love the color names; Abyss Gray, Total Eclipse, etc. 8)

I got one (had to mail order it), but it doesn't fit right. Beware - this shirt is a Slim Fit! It's not terribly slim, but the armholes are rather snug, as are the upper arms. I'm going to return mine.

As for color, I got the Flint Gray in hopes it would work for my gray-scale Indy outfit. However, the color has a lot of tan in it, and looks more like alight khaki. It tends to blend with whatever it's up against, so Flint Grey would make a good normal Indy color in most light.

The fabric is soft and light. I really wish this wasn't a slim fit shirt. :( I would buy more just because I like the shirt.

I can't tell from the photo, does the shirt have epaulets?

Yeah, you can definitely see them over the crest of the shoulders (more towards the back than the front) ... you can catch a glimpse of the epaulets a little better when you use the magnifying glass tool and use the photo showing ALL of the shirts.

It really is a great close-enough. All it's missing is the strips of fabric down the front. Plus, no annoying sleeve button tabs, like many of the close-enoughs have.

So what size do you normally wear, me I take a M, thinking of getting one in L. Oh in case anyone is wondering, they don't have them at the Kohls I work at, but I'm gonna check the kiosk they have in store, free shipping and if it doesn't fit I can return it to the store, no hassle.

I just got some nice Indy esque shirts from Old Navy. I had to remove the stupid belt loops they put on the epaulets but I got a dark blue, a green, and a nice gray.

If they don't have them in the stores you can still order them on line, but you'll pay shipping.

But here's a neat trick. Go to your local Kohl's (where you can expect great things) and if they don't stock em or have your size go to there kiosk (usally two in each store) here you can place your order. And if you have any discount cards you can use em.
When I ordered mine I typed in military (APT9) and was able to find them quickly enough. The reason to use the kiosk is they won't charge for shipping to any where in the US of A.
Takes about 7-10 day's, so be paitant, which were all pertty used to, right. :-
The reason I know this, is I work at Kohl's, best part time job I've ever had.

My local Kohls had them in when I went by the other day. Flint Gray is definitely the color that you'll want for the Indy look (pale khaki looked way too dark to me), though some of the others like Abyss Gray are fairly stylish if you just want an adventure style shirt for everyday wear. Keep in mind that the fit is slim throughout (which works for me) so you may want to get one size larger than you normally wear.

Just a heads up; I happened to go in my local kohls today looking for something else and found these shirts on clearance, I got one for $13. I generally try not to impulse buy things, but they are reasonably nice shirts and the price was right. :whip:
