Cassidy, I'm 6'2 and ordered the L myself, based on the majority of the specs posted - as I said above, it fits beautifully aside from the fact that I would've like to have maybe another inch of length at the waist. It covers my belt, but just. I tried to go back for an XL as well, but they seem to be gone too now. Being 6', it should be a reasonable fit for you. Enjoy!

Just got in my size L, and LOVE IT!

Much prefer the fit, leather weight and grain over my Todd's standard. Only very slight pulling of the threads on one pocket. Sleeve length is perfect--no need for oranges.

Can anyone point me at pics of the proper slides/buckles? One thing I'd like to do is repalce the plastic slides on my BW, but have no idea where to get a good look at what should be going on to replace them

Yes, I somehow imagine Michaelson lovingly (g-rated of course) massaging leather conditioner into the jacket and leaving it to hang in a closet, only dawning it on special occasions, occasions which would not require dirt and grime for his better jackets...A climate controlled vaccuum chamber would also be an option if cost were no object. I think Michaelson would be scuffing baseballs with sandpaper on the pitcher's mound before he would be purposefully scuffing his leather apparel.

I received one of these last weekend and may have to eventually post a few pics. XL with liner, all I have done to it is lightly damp the outer arms and scrunch them up with a small fire extinguisher inside the arms to keep the shape. Let it sit one day and then hung it back up in the hot garage to more quickly air out the leather smell. Probably the only other thing I will do with it is tweak the collars so there is a little S curl to them. Maybe sleep with it on once when it gets cold again and the leather smell has worn off more. That's all for now. Great buy, can't beat it with a stick. I for the life of me can't find loose stitching or holes anywhere. So, I think the pattern variation must have been the main issue with this one.

Actually, didn't they pile a bunch of leather jackets together and beat them with a baseball bat to get the sound effect of punches in fight scenes?

...so maybe you can beat it with a stick, or Lewisville Slugger, that is?

Tragedy, no Todd jackets left in Large and no sign of resupply

It looked the most suitable in fit, finish, leather thickness and durability. I don't think the actual Indy jacket is all that heavy a jacket.. That leaves the Bantu Wind (at the exclusion of all others). Any recommendations guys? So many choices, so many variables.. what say you?

Yeah, it has become my favorite jacket now too....well, second favorite after my TNO. Great looking jacket!

I certainly do have other jackets: A Tony Nowak Original CS in cowhide; a 747 Raiders (cowhide) from Tony; a Wested LC in goathide; and now this Todd's in Lamb. I'm quite pleased with it. My TNO's are clearly the best in regards to being well made, top quality, custom fit, etc., and I love them both. What I do like about this new Todd's jacket is that it feels more tough than my old Wested lamb, it has a nice grain, and I like the color. Compared to my Raiders 747, which has a milk chocolate look (in a good way), this Todd's has more of the dark chocolate look (also a good thing!). See for yourself.

Side by side: TNO on left, Todd on right:

As you can see, the Todd's has a nice grain to it!

If you are considering this, I think it's a simple decision. You can't beat it for the price as long as you like the fit. I'm happy with mine. It's looser than my TNO, but that's to be expected, since my TNO was custom fit. I'm a 42R, and my Todd's L, with no liner, fits just fine.

In fact, here's a shot of all four of my jackets for comparison. Forgive Todd's (upper left) for looking a bit stiff, it's brand new! I've had the LC Wested (lower right) for almost three years, as well as the CS (upper right), and the Raiders (lower left) for about two years.

I really think that this is a fantastic deal, no question! For a hundred dollars, I don't think you can get a better jacket!

Having been through many jackets.. (Wested, US Wings, Todd's Custom, G&B, etc..) I find the "Bantu Wind" to be well constructed, and having the most "Raiders" color, grain, drape, and feel, of any other jacket (Except my Todds' Custom in calfskin) I have owned.

Indeed, a FANTASTIC $100.00 jacket for me...

Here's mine, a size Large. Had to let the sleeves out an inch, replace the side buckles with D rings and do the "wrinkle effect" on the sleeves.

Mine felt kind of like plastic when it first arrived.
But, it is definately leather. Give it a month or two of regular wear and the plastic feeling goes away.

I know exactly what your saying! Mine was stinky like it was a fake plastic smell? Best thing I did was buy Lexol, spray the jacket, it will greatly improve the jacket. The rich aroma of leather will soon fill the air in which your jacket is placed.

I was passing through the area and was able to stop by Todd's today. I am glad I made the trip. I got a Bantu Wind Jacket and shirt for myself and was able to pick up a hat, 6 foot whip and a jacket for my son. I was planning on buying a large shirt and Jacket, but it turns out that XL fit me better for both. For reference, I am 6 feet tall and 170 lbs with a 40" chest. I have long arms and legs for my height. The large jacket was a little tight in the shoulders and the arms were too short. The XL fit great all around. It is a really nice jacket, and the price can not be beat. Mizbrooks was very nice and helpful.

well, I own several indy jackets including TNO and Westeds. I must say that the Bantu Wind pattern and look is great- I am just not too keen on the leather after wearing the jacket for a while now.

Does this mean it'll be in the Bazaar? Its not a XXL, is it?

I don't have one but it seems like comparing TNO to the BW is like comparing apples to oranges. There's only about a price tag difference of $1000+.
