Pondering a new Todd's jacket and.....
I'm wondering, since I'm 6'2" will these jackets not work for me? I'm about 185lbs and I think the large would fit great in the body from what I can tell from the measurements, as well as the sleeve length should be sufficient, but a 24" back panel? I don't think that would even come close to my beltline....any ideas or others that had the same issue?

Hmmm... I have to say I doubt you'd find a fit in a Todd's. They are quite short and at 6'1" I can't ever get enough sleeve length. The body isn't too bad for me but you're a bit taller. If you carry a lot of your height in your legs you may be ok. They really are terrific if they fit... Great match to the movie jackets in texture, cut and color. And a great company on top of it all with terrific customer service.

I'm 6'4", 210 lbs. and the XXL seems fine for me.
These are pics taken when I got it.

Hey JC,
Does yours seem really baggy when you zip it up? I tried an XL once but it was way too fully cut for me.

I'm your size and that's too short for me. I need at least 25.5 inches to cover my belt. It depends on your torso length: sizes are kind of arbitrary.

just below the belt line??

Yep, Todd's jacket aren't for everyone. Sleeves shouldn't be a problem, they can be lenghtened by over an inch or even two, but I don't think you can stretch the backpanel to fit your frame.
I saw your jacket in the bazaar, if only I hadn't bought my custom wested, I would get it from you for sure, the measurements are perfect for me and it looks great! Hope you will sell soon!

Yeah it billows out when zipped, so I don't. Besides I had heard you should only zip a Raiders half way if that; if going for the Raiders look. At the time, it was the only thing I could afford and living in FL, having a lightweight leather jacket is good.Tibor wrote:Hey JC,

Is it best to lengthen Todd's sleeves by having a tailor let out the sleeve (assuming there's lining enough) or do most do the wet/stretch method?

I would go to a tailor, there is always a good inch of leather folded in the cuff and there should be a bit of extra lining too; if not, tailor can let out as much as he can and replace the lining in sleeves, there shouldn't be a problem with that.
Stretch method is good, but I think the sleeves shrink with wear, so you would need to keep repeating it.
Cheers

I took out the sleeves on mine (by a tailor) - much better once they are the right length. There's plenty of leather up that sleeve !
