Side Strap Question
Hey all! I just welcomed home my U.S. made Steerhide Legend and I have to say that it is an awesome jacket. I'll try to get pics up soon. Here is my question, I am one of those guys who check my jackets stitch by stitch. I measure everything and am a stickler for balance in construction. So when I was going over the jacket I found that one of the straps has a single stitch that has popped or is missing. In all of your wisdom, do you think this is something to warrant me sending the jacket back for an exchange or should I let it be? The jacket seems to be built well but I tend to sweat the small stuff. What are your thoughts?

Re: Side Strap Question
For one stitch?
Not worth your time OR effort. I'd say just enjoy the jacket and let it go.

Re: Side Strap Question
I agree with M, that's nothing compared to what other people have found. Do you think Indy worried about a missing stitch?
Re: Side Strap Question
And if it really bugs you, get some brown button thread and do a quick stitch yourself. I wouldn't send it back unless it looked like it would unravel a line of stitching.
Re: Side Strap Question
Thank you. I know it probably seems a waste of good cyber space to have this post but man I drive myself nuts sometimes. I've taken the term "perfectionist" and perverted it to a whole new level. Now to get some pics of this jacket up. I thought the steer would be just like the cow but no way. This leather is weighty. Has great range marks and to me just looks "Indy". I would say this is a must have for any collector.

Re: Side Strap Question
Had to be done...I've yet to see a steerhide yet. I want to see if its any different than the naked cowhide.
Re: Side Strap Question
I have the antique steerhide. To me, it almost feels and looks like goat! It's a beautiful leather.
