Interested in what the hat makers have to say about this:

Just saw it while I was cruising around: it looks awfully light. Where's Borsalino get their felt, and have any of our resident craftsmen used, or contemplated using a beaver felt of this apparent weight? If you've seen it/experimented with it, why haven't you offered hats in this particular weight in beaver? It appears it would lend itself to an Indy sorta hat. These questions are purely out of curiosity, as this is the first time I've ever seen the hats in the link, and the beaver Indy hats were the first thing that popped to mind ( in terms of replicating the first three movie hats in beaver ).
AND... Take a gander at that original price! Considering the widely accepted quality of modern production Borsalino hats...EEEeeesh!!! Not that the sale price is much of an improvement.

Re: Borsalino Beaver Felt - hat makers...
I think Borsalino felt is proprietary...I think that's one of the reasons Borsalino hats are so desired, that and their limited runs.
