I have an old stockwhip that I recently aquired but the handle is cracked and about to break in half completely...my question is, can I remove the body from the handle and just replace the handle? I am new to stockwhips so from what I have researched, it seems that they are two seperate pieces and that they are interchangable. Like the body can be on its own..like a snakewhip I would presume. I love snakewhips and the body seems to be able to be used as such until a handle can be attachted.
Thanks for any info.....

Get in touch with Joe Strain or MidWestWhips guys, they will surely help you. Handle itself shouldn't cost you an arm and leg. Just call them, send the whole whip and they will make you matching handle.
Good luck, don't forget to post pics!

Yes, the stock and thong are two separate pieces and can be changed. Remove the thong from the handle and replace it with another.
Once you've taken the thong out from the keeper, check to see if your stock is steel-lined. If it is, you may be able to recuperate it and use it on another cane stock. Or just have someone make you another brand new handle.
