In praise of Alden Shoes of San Francisco.

Post by darkhelmet »

Ordered my Alden Indy boots (size 13) a couple of weeks ago from Alden shoes in SF,when they arrived found out they were a tad too long in the toe. After talking with them, I sent them back and traded for 12.5. Offered to pay for 2nd day air, but just found out boots were sent out yesterday and will be here tomorrow and Alden of SF paid for the shipping!

Brenda has been nothing but top notch. Wish more businesses were this way. American made and excellent customer service. Feels like I am living in the golden years :)

405's.

Good Lord, they are like tattoos. Is one pair enough? Already looking at the rugged Indy's and the Indy Shoe (though I haven't found much out on them).

To drag a little IG history in here, they were the first Alden's shop to hook up with Indygear when the site began.

Allen White was our contact at the shop, and was instrumental in getting me some of the original information about the 405's that was posted first at the old IndyDigg's website, then transferred to IG when the site was created.

There are other Alden dealers, but the San Franciso store was the first one who dealt directly with us Indyfans on a regular basis, and recognized us as a customer base rather than a bunch of crazies.

I've purchased from them as well. Excellent staff. I also visited the DC store. Great staff as there as well. Can't go wrong with the factory stores, either coast.

East Coast folks can get the same fine service from the Washington DC store. Ask for Kathy or Joe. 202-347-2308. I've bought four pairs from them.

Isn't this all true! Outstanding Customer Service/Care! I remember ordering my black custom Alden Indy Boots many moons ago and I was always kept advised on the work being done...re-checks on stiching I wanted, etc. (I had mine done with contrast stiching khaki and original soles) ...thus neet colour combinations of black/khaki/browns! To my knowledge this was the first pair of black Indy's they had ever done...could be wrong, but I don't think so. I remember the laces were also made of black leather that had been made by hand. Those did not last all that long as the laces were rather thin. But they got me some heavy duty round wound black laces that worked very well. Now, they offer the flat laces and I have several pair of these -- just in case I break one -- or, two...which I have been known to do.

Great folks! Quality goods and very easy and cordial to work with! Two Thumbs and big toes up :) ! W>
