So ill be hitting Rome tomorrow and staying there for the next few days... so far so good... but Ive just checked the weather forecast and its discouraging; rain, rain and hey look! more rain. Trying to stay on topic I wanted to ask, I have 2 hats an AB pure Beaver and a Henry, which of both hats would u recommend me to take with me if any? Ive read some members have experienced trouble when mixing hats and water ^^

Re: ABs and rain??
Beaver AB. It's the most water resistant.
I've worn mine in frog strangling rains with no problem.
Just be sure to allow the hat to dry correctly after you're done wearing it for the day.

Re: ABs and rain??
Is there any correct way to do so? Or you mean make sure it gets dry?
Regards and thanks for the help!

Re: ABs and rain??
I either hang mine on a hall tree or on a chair until completly air dried, or place crown side down on a clean piece of paper until dry.
USE NO HEAT!!! Allow to just air dry.

And just so you have the warm security of more than one opinion... my AB's ae my go-to's in the worst wet weather, and they still look new.

Beaver all the way, for unfair conditions. As for drying, Steve has said many times that the best way to let your hat dry is to pop out the creases and sit on the crown. The weight is evenly distributed throught the crown as opposed to the brim. I've never hung my hat up after being rained on, but many here do. I always do the aforementioned routine and all my hats look good as new.

Re: ABs and rain??
Whenever my ABs get soaked, I pop the dents out of the crown and rest it in a piece of round cardboard upside down. The cardboard holds the hat just off of whatever surface it's resting on so that the crown doesn't flatten. After a day or so, the hat is usually dry, and I just pop the dents back in the same way they were before it rained.
Alternatively, I've gotten vintage hats in the mail that I have reshaped with water and let them dry with the above method. It's never failed me.

Just to give you another level of security, I have ALWAYS hung my hats on a hall tree without popping the crown out after a complete soaking, and have never had any problems what so ever.
Regardless of what you decide to do, they're all good practices. 100% beaver is always the 'go-to' hat when it comes to wet, inclimate weather.
