Yep. And I think the conclusion was that production came to an unceremonious halt, leaving numerous waiting customers out in the cold.

I think for another $20, I'd rather get the Alden's. http://www.theshoemart.com/alden-mens-i ... kboot.html

For $325, they're not worth it. For quality work boots, I rather get a Danner or Bates.

Re: Wolverine 1000 Mile Boot
The 1000 mile boots, much like Aldens, are not meant to be hardcore work boots like Danners, traditional Wolverines, or Bates. They are more of an everyday "knock-around" boot. I hesitate to say "fashion" piece. If you don't like Aldens, the 1000 mile boot is a great alternative. Very Indy-esque and true to the time period. Having worn them for a couple weeks now, I can say they are very comfortable and really take on a lot of character. I love 'em.
I'd be happy to post some pics this weekend, if you like.

Ok, so it took me a while to get around to posting pics. Here's my 1000 mile boots with about 500 miles on them. What can I say, they're great boots. They fit like a pair of slippers and can take a surprising amount of abuse. If you're looking for an Alden alternative, these babies have great character.

GREAT pics!
Boots look really awesome!
Love the color, and the look, and the rugged worn-in, yet well-loved style!
