Great jacket Holt
I am in your camp...definetly goatskin is the way to go.

It seems yours has been aging very nicely. Can't wait to see mine in a couple of years.
Again, great pictures and jacket...

I really love the way that jacket rides forward so that the front hangs lower than the back. ..Mine tend to do the reverse.... :?

On a separate note; Photo 2; Did you go outside holding the TV remote? ;)

What a sweet looking jacket! It's really nice to see a jacket which actually looks like The Jacket.

That's a REALLY beautiful jacket, Holt... and age is clearly helping it to look better and better.
Very nice photos that do it great justice.

So, lately I have seen more and more pictures of wested new HERO offering and like I said in another thread it is scarily similiar to my jacket I specced out 3 years ago.

I think wested new HERO jacket is pretty cool but I am on the fence if I should get it since my jacket is so similiar.

this jacket is made from my specs I used much time on working out and sent wested way. wested ddi one awesome job on meeting my specs. it was made way before they had the HERO in the works. I used their standard 80's pattern as a base and asked them if they could rework it which they did. the key features that makes it so similiar to their new HERO jacket is:

the shoulders fall back towards the rear (off the shoulder)
the yoke is slimmer.
longer and wider collar/neck opening.
the sleeves are slimmer and more tapered.
it features tri glides.
the pockets and flaps are reworked from their standard shape.
the zipper starts 0.30'' or so under the collarstand like the real original jacket.

there are more specs that are changed but that is details. too much to write.

Your jacket does look a lot like the new Wested. But woudln't you have to examine one to be sure?

Yes, of course. I am NOT saying it IS the same jacket.lol. I was just sharing it and sharing my opinion on how similiar it looked since it wa smade a few years before the hero. I think both jackets are pretty cool and I am very much on the fence about if I should get one or not.

I know you're not saying it's the same. ;) Since you're a Wested fan, this new one is the only one you lack, isn't it? For a collector it is probably a must have. I personally waited years for Wested to make one that looks right without asking for specs. But I do get your point (made elsewhere) that some jackets have the Indy vibe wthout being all that accurate. For me accuracy isn't huge. I just don't like it when the differences are really obvious, like bad pocket flaps or where the zip ends.
