Wested Raiders OTR (one year in)

Post by Zoltar »

It's been over a year since I bougth my first Wested, an of the rack Raiders in authentic brown lamb, a purchase that ultimatly lead me here were I've made some good friends :TOH:
The UK weathers been exceptional over the last couple of weeks so I've got a few gear shots to share.
My Henry's off with Mr Penman getting knocked back into shape but here's a run down of the rest
Adventurebilt shirt and holster
Wested pants and webelt (redyed brown with weathered solid brass buckle)
Wade Eagan gunbelt and bagstrap
Todd's boots
Genuine Mk.VII
and my latest addition new 8ft Pagey whip (Cheers Whiskyman )

The Jackets just been left to weather natrually with pleanty of wear and has developed some nice grain and wrinkles.

I look a bit grumpy on these for some reason!

The gear all looks great, including the jacket (and I'm not usually a Wested fan). I like that you're letting the jacket distress naturally. You'll get a lot more wear out of it, and it'll look better in the end.

It looks very nice. Is that the 80's cut version?

No not the ROLA just the standard Raiders size 40, the old indian made one.

Yes there the comfiest boot's I've ever owned :D , unfortunatly the sole's aren't durable at all :( . Unless Todd's changed the spec's on the latest batch just think of them as costume boot's, or just get them resoled right away and you'll still save a load on getting a pair off Aldens.

Thanks Fella
I think you can get away with the Wested pants as long as your close to HF's proportions. Once you start going bigger in the waist the taper is excentuated because the ankle width stays the same.

I washed them on the machine wool cycle and they lost a bit of leg length so be careful if you have a pair!
#### I keep shrinking things latley ](*,) or I'm getting fatter!

I don't have a pair, but I reckon I'd go with Magnoli due to above reasons.... :D ....I'm sure it's just the clothes shrinking in the wash, but I always justify extra girth with the fact that NW England is chuffin' freezing!! (Usually)

Zoltar that fourth pic with the thumb hook is perfect. I'd love to see that with the hat on standing on a rock cliff or temple entrance....totally looks like a movie poster pose.

Thanks Gorak - when my hat returns I'll see what I can do.

Ian - Stitchings have worn through where the action pleats overlap on the hem it's not caused any problems and isn't getting any worse. It's hidden from view when worn so no worries.

Looks GREAT!

That front length is spot on! IMO, that's the PERFECT length for a Raiders jacket!
