Alden 405 boots in the UK?
As the title suggests... where can one get these boots in the shops or on-line in the UK (don't want to pay import taxes).
Cheers!

On the Aldenshoe.com website, it appears there's an Alden dealer in London:
Browns
South Moulton Street Limited
23-27 South Moulton Street
London, Great Britain
Their website yields 3 pairs of Alden shoes (http://www.brownsfashion.com/pages/sear ... 4468643034).
Maybe they can order 405's? Might be worth a call. Otherwise, you'll probably have to find a close Yank military friend with an APO

Resurecting an old thread .
I will be in London next week so it looks like a good excuse to finally get some Alden boots .
But except for Browns in South Moulton Street , is there any other shop that sells Alden 405's in London ???

I love 405s, but if I wanted to buy something that looked just like them but for less, Todd's boots are the way to go.
I need to make my own personal comment here - I bought a pair of Todds - and they looked great. I ended up selling them to another member because having owned Aldens, the comfort was not there for me. Please don't take it the wrong way - I think Todd has great stuff, but the inside comfort of a Todds VS Aldens is also worth consideration.

And this is why we shouldn't resurrect 2 year old posts. Context is lost.nicktheguy wrote:maboot38 wrote:Yeah, if you are looking for something cheaper, Todd's look AMAZING at a really good price.

My comment was in response to the following:

Any good replica's at a decent price?
Everyone knows Todd's are not as comfortable as Aldens, but he was looking for a reasonably priced replica, which is exactly what Todd makes.

I am aware of that when I read the post Maboot. I was merely contributing my personal thoughts about the comfort. That is all. I agreed that the Todds is a boot that looks great. I was adding a personal thought about the comfort. I like Todd's stuff overall.

Got it. You're right too. Looks good, not nearly as comfortable as Aldens (but really, what is?)nicktheguy wrote:I am aware of that when I read the post Maboot. Take my word for it, it's worth paying the extra tax to own the real thing.
