Re: Disappointed by US Wings Legend
Actually I found that post while I was looking for the one about the LL Bean close enoughs. I was reading through a search of MY posts when I found that old thread, and was browsing honestly more for the history of it when I found the postings about the release dates.
As I said, I wasn't even wanting to argue or call anyone to the mat, and certainly not you so please don't take it the wrong way.
But man, the waters about the whole Wings Legend became one big muddy mess, IMO.

Re: Disappointed by US Wings Legend
Understood.
Yeah, they were doing pretty good during the 'Hero' creation, but things went really off the rails when it came down to the production of the 'Legend'.

Re: Disappointed by US Wings Legend
I got an email from UPS with an attachment that is supposedly details about the delivery. It was in the spam box and I assume that it's a virus as Myke never gave me an update as they told me. I don't think I'll open it because I don't see why I'd have to open an attachment for delivery confirmation.

Maybe open the email on a phone with web capabilities. Then change your password and you should be fine. Or send it to a gmail account and scan it for a virus before opening it?WhipDude wrote:I got an email from UPS with an attachment that is supposedly details about the delivery. I always err on caution with any irregular attachments - there's lots of viruses out there these days.

Very true! Heard about the new Hallmark one? It's extremely bad!nicktheguy wrote:I always err on caution with any irregular attachments - there's lots of viruses out there these days.

I got a UPS package a couple of weeks ago and have been getting this same email (with attachment) in my spam box once or twice a week ever since. Since I don't have anything on order, I just delete it each time it shows up.

Virus scanner picked it up as a threat. Oh well! The wait continues.

Re: Disappointed by US Wings Legend
Yes, there is a virus going round attached to a fake UPS email, so I'd be very wary of opening any emails that say they are from UPS at the moment as it's a nasty virus.

Soooo.... anyone get their replacement jacket yet?

Good April fool's joke. You had me rolling.
Re: Disappointed by US Wings Legend
Any word from US Wings at least? (like their word so far has been good).
Re: Disappointed by US Wings Legend
Myke emailed me March 25th saying he was checking to see how long it would be for the 2nd shipment. I guess he forgot or decided to not check.
Re: Disappointed by US Wings Legend
I did realize that this Tuesday will mark 5 weeks since the returning of my jacket. When I originally returned it, they did say it would be 6-8 weeks. So maybe I'll be hearing something soon? I hate having to email them anymore because it just takes them aware from actually solving the issue.

Re: Disappointed by US Wings Legend
Yeah, I got a tracking number today too, but I'm still not getting my hopes up. The last time they sent me a tracking number unexpectedly, they sent me back the same darn defective jacket. I'm not holding my breath.
Re: Disappointed by US Wings Legend
But it has been a while and they said they were getting corrected jackets in. A small number before but that still means some have been correct. No hopes up for me either but who knows?
I get mine Thursday.

Re: Disappointed by US Wings Legend
Well jnicktem, hopefully you get yours real soon too. That is assuming they got it correct this time which I'll be surprised if they don't.
Anybody else getting shipping info?

Re: Disappointed by US Wings Legend
Oh I gave up a long time ago and got my refund. This jacket just wasn't worth it anymore for me.
Re: Disappointed by US Wings Legend
Oh. Did they end up refunding jacket cost + shipping for initial order + cost to have it shipped back?
Re: Disappointed by US Wings Legend
They refunded everything except for the initial shipping cost. I requested that they refund me the $10 their website said they would give if there was an error on their part...which there was.
Re: Disappointed by US Wings Legend
Well at least you got most of your money back. Let us know what you get in the future since you were looking for another jacket to wear instead of you Nowak.
Re: Disappointed by US Wings Legend
Yeah I was- but it looks like I'm getting another Nowak! Although this won't be an Indy jacket.

Re: Disappointed by US Wings Legend
I got the jacket today - quite a bit earlier than I expected, based on recent trends. Overall, I'd have to say I'm happy with this jacket. The left sleeve has quite a few blemishes in the leather and has an odd grain towards the cuff, but in time, I'm sure I'll come to appreciate these character marks. Otherwise, not only did they fix the pocket placement, but it looks as though the adjusted the dimesions of the pockets to make them less elongated than the previous one. Now I just have some return shipping/refund issues to work out. Sorry for the crummy pictures - it's raining outside today, and I don't have the energy to set up the best possible lighting for a photoshoot.
Re: Disappointed by US Wings Legend
Mine came as well. They got it right! Mine looks similar so no need for pics.

It is. It's a little bit lighter than the pictures show. Maybe sometime next week I'll get a chance for some better pictures.

Looks like the wait was worth it, fantastic jacket Mark. Fits you just as well as the other, with the added advantage of sensibly placed pockets!

Glad you guys got 'em!!!
Re: Disappointed by US Wings Legend
I'm pleased to see that they were able to make the needed corrections, and hope those who received theirs enjoy them.
The photos certainly show off the fine proportions of the jacket.

Re: Disappointed by US Wings Legend
Your jacket looks terrific mate and I'm sure that like me you'll end up loving the blemishes because when your jacket acquires its 'worn' character, those marks enhance its ruggedness.
Cheers for sharing and enjoy..!

Re: Disappointed by US Wings Legend
I'll try to have some up tomorrow. The blemishes don't bother me as leather won't be perfect. It gives it some nice character. Otherwise I'd buy a $50 black mall jacket that will tear in 2 months.

I'm glad you guys finally got your jackets! I am glad US Wings actually (and eventually) came through for you!

Agreed. Great looking jacket! You need to break that thing in though. Now get out there and have a buddy tow you behind a truck or something.

Re: Disappointed by US Wings Legend
Originally, I was hoping to wear it through the fall/early winter. When that didn't happen, I was thinking late winter/spring, but it's just too darn hot now. I'll at least post some pics once it's darkened with a coat of Pecards. Maybe it'll start to look a little more broken in this fall.

Re: US Wings Legend Imported Cowhide Discussion
I put some Pecards on the jacket. It darkened it up nicely, but I understand this may fade. Here's a picture of it half finished. I've got the whole thing done now, but I'll wait until later this week to put up some better pictures.

I must admit I've never used Peckards on a jacket - I am considering it on my Nowak as it's getting stiffer with age

Re: US Wings Legend Imported Cowhide Discussion
I finally did it to my Nowak, and I said I probably never would......the results were amazing, but not unexpected.
No need to hesitate. It's worth the extra effort.
The jacket looks great, Mark!

Re: US Wings Legend Imported Cowhide Discussion
I just placed an order for one of these jackets in size small today. Hopefully it wont take too long for it to get to me. I'm usually not a cowhide type of guy, for I prefer the drapery of lambskin, but the description on US Wings site and Weston's photos made me really want this leather. This will be my first cowhide jacket and I sure hope that this one exceeds all my expectations. I will post pictures of it on me as soon as I receive it.
