Raiders motorcycle style jacket

Post by TFrosst »

Hey guys. Haven't been around here for a while but getting back into everything slowly.
I already have a Wested custom raiders I picked up a few years ago but want something new.
I was thinking of keeping the basic pattern of the jacket but modernizing it a bit and changing the collar. What do you guys think?

Does anyone have pics of a Wested in their brown seal cowskin?

Since you already have a Raiders lamb jacket, I'd be tempted to go a different way with it. Usually a naked type, cowhide is used for a LC/CS styled jacket. In fact, that is what I like about the LC style, is that it is different from the Raiders jacket, which you already have. Just an idea. Also, Wested has a new, pre-distressed, CS type of cowhide they are now using as well. When you transition from say lamb to cow, generally the jacket will be heavier.

General characteristics of each: Raiders-shorter than LC, skins are lighter weight-lamb or goat, slimmer cut; Last Cursade-slightly longer, (somewhat) relaxed fit, heavier skin-usually cow. Generally, the LC collar is longer than the Raiders jacket, particularly from Wested. Certain features on the LC jacket are generally wider than the Raiders jacket: wider collar, storm flap and pockets (generally), arm holes are wider in circumference, wider yoke. The straps are lower in relation to the map pockets, inside leather facings around the zipper, visible snaps on the storm flap.

Check this one out if you are so inclined:
