32 plait bull whip
Things seem a bit glum around here so here is a whip that I was recently commissioned to make for a customer in Canada in the hope that it brightens things up a little.
http://www.em-brand-whips.com/bullpics/ ... t-copy.jpg" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; The brief was to make a 32 plait bull whip that looked like a diamond back rattle snake. When I first started I thought it would be a breeze but after undoing the whip for the third time found that it wasn't all that easy after all. Live and learn.
PS. Another whip I recently made was a stock whip for the Tasmanian Mountain Cattlemens get together. This has been a yearly event for the past 28 years for which I donate a whip for the junior section of the whip cracking competition.

Kind Regards
Bernie.

Bernie you are an artist of the highest order! That diamond back pattern is stunning. I'm not sure why you thought it would be a breeze; nothing about that looks easy to me! Thanks for putting them up.

That is just breath taking. It is really a piece of art. A whip like that belongs in a museum.
TST, I have to completely agree with that!!TheSavoryTrim wrote:I would be reluctant to crack such a thing of beauty!

Wow, that is cool. With a whip like that on your hip, you could excuse an Ophidiophobe for trying to burn it with a torch!
Re: 32 plait bull whip
I opened the picture BEFORE I read your entire post, & as soon as I saw it, I thought: "That's looks just like a diamondback rattlesnake."
I can only aspire to one day have a fraction of your skill, sir.

What fantastic workmanship! That's a really special whip. Although, its design means Indy could never use it, of course.
