Hi Everyone
I am looking to purchase a close looking pair of Indy boots and wondered whether any of you guys know any UK based suppliers.
The Aldens are over my budget and I can see that Todds reproductions are unavailable until the summer.
I can see from the threads that Aldo's did do a pair but am having no luck on their site.
Your help and advice would be much appreciated.
Cheers
Colin

Hi Colin,
I'm in the same boat as you.
I did consider the Aldo boots, but all Aldo UK had was the Rodriguez (I wanted the more closer Jeremyah). Now they have neither
If anyone dose know of a UK available VERY close boot I'd love to know.
For the time being I have other gear to get and will wait for Todd to get another run made.

The Indy boots do seem to cause quite a bit of frustration
Vendors outside the U.S. are non existent.
I may be forced to bite the bullet and buy a pair of Aldens. £300 + just seems rather a lot.

If you go the route of getting Aldens I think J Crew London do them, sure I saw a pair on ebay a few weeks back. At the very least it'll save a few pounds on import duty and VAT .
As for me I'll be waiting on the Todd's boots or a bargin on ebay or in the Bazaar, the price tag is WAY over what I'm able to spend on a pair of boots.
Important tip : NEVER EVER own a pair of shoes that cost more than ANY that your wife or girlfriend owns.

Good tip buddy!
The dilemma is patience vs cost.
The Aldens are very cool though

try high street shoe stores like foot locker or soletrader.this is where i picked up my 'supersole' redwings.they are very close to the aldens-smooth sole , toe stitching.cost around £100.a great alternative to the 405's plus redwing boots was to be the boot harrison ford was to wear in raiders until he stuck with his own pair of aldens.try also redwings on line stores.

I bought a pretty close pair of Hush Puppy boots from the Cheshire Oaks, Outlet Village in Ellesmere Port, Cheshire.
They were £50, and I've hardly had then off my feet for 3 months. They have leather uppers but only rubber soles.
A man on a galloping horse wouldn't notice the difference.
