Thanks so much my friend... it was a very tense moment indeed.
You're right, the jacket has a scar that tells a story. Now it's going to be the "Field" jacket for my work. While the goatskin Wested will be the jacket for all other fields that don't involve bullets.

...and in re-reading the subject title, I wasn't aware you could GET a Wested that shot rubber bullets....but then they can make just about anything these days I suppose.

But that's what you get when the Army become the police force and are aimed at the wrong "enemies of the state".... I'm sorry to hear you got shot, but more than happy that it's not worse.. (considering the situation, it could well have been)... You're a lucky man!

I'm sure the distressing on the jacket is more rivaled by the distressing done to your nerves. I've been following the news with what has been going on and all I can say it get the #$%^ out of there!!!

Dude, I really will be keeping you in my prayers until you get home. No matter the safe house or location you're at just know you have friends here that are concerned with your every move. Thankfully the jacket will be replaced, just know YOU CAN'T BE!!!

I know it's easy to feel 10 foot tall and bullet proof (well rubber bullets withstanding) with what you've been through, just be careful. With what I'm hearing it's only going to get worse.

Thanks guys for your messages and prayers of support...

Following the events here is not an easy task. Since yesterday journalists are being harrassed, some got beaten, others arrested, specially TV crews. I am not a TV reporter so I can disguise. But it's becoming hard to work here.
2 more days to go. I am flying back to Beirut tomorrow (on friday). I might come back to Cairo in some weeks if the crisis persist, which I hope it will not. Over 1000 people were wounded until now... more than 400 deads....

As for Peter, I can only say: he's the man!!!!

Things are getting tense. We just received the information that a foreign journalist was killed in the square. My orgnisation orered all its personnel to remain in the hotels. Many journos were arrested, the hilton hotel was closed and told many journos to leave to other hotels.

I am leaving tomorrow morning....
