I think the conundrum has to do with the fact that when I think green, I think Ninja Turtle green or vibrant, green. Imagine looking at a picture of a rain forest. That is what I typically think when I think green. But of course, there are many shades of green. When I first saw the pic, I thought, "different color" but upon looking at the hat closer and thinking about it, I thought, "that must be John's moss green color." The side by side comparison, really shows off the difference in color. It doesn't help though that the moss green hat is pictured in a reddish-brown background. that may be affecting what color the eye registers. Like when you match up a grey hat with blue and you see a blue-grey and then change to match it up with green and then you see a green-grey.

Never mind the "is it grey or is it brown" debate, now we have added a new color debate to keep things interesting.  :? :? :rolling:

Looks fantastic John. Job well done! =P~

Cheers!

As promised...
I actually spent a good ten minutes messing around with the colors in Photoshop and still couldn't get either hat to come out looking like they do to my eye. Ah well. It's a fairly close approximation, although the 'fawn' is too washed out, and the moss green is too... I dunno, olive?... in this pic.

It's not color blindness and the eye does not "record" color. It's the brain that does the interpretation and mind bending. It's what you've conditioned your brain to recall under certain hues. White balancing for photos and video are critical, otherwise, the outcome of photos or video production are all off color-wise.

That moss green fedora is beautiful, but what would you wear it with? I don't think I own a green suit.

I've seen green fedoras go quite well well with both gray and brown suits. It's actually quite a versatile color.

You are correct sir. Its a versatile color. Much more than most would think it is.

If you look REALLY closely and relax your eyes, after several minutes the entire "Streets of Cairo" scene plays out in multicolour!
That's amazing!!
If you CAN'T see it, maybe your monitor needs adjusting? Or maybe my meds do....LOL
