My Wested jackets

Post by djoh »

Hello all,

I am a new member to community and live in Finland. I own 3 Wested jackets: 1 Raiders and 2 LC type jackets. Raiders jacket is almost 10 years old and I will post pictures of it later, the leather is predistressed hide. LC jackets that I have are authentic lamb and novapelle. Here are few pictures of the jackets taken while ago:

I have also one 10 ft 12 plait bullwhip made by giovanni celeste, other whip is on the way and I bought it from purewhips. New whip is going to be 8 ft 12 plait. I will post more pictures soon as I get the time to take the pictures.

I really like this forum and find lots of interesting reading here. I thought that I have to get active here because I was just "cleaned" out by forum admins because I had not posted anything, sorry about that :TOH:

Br,

Welcome aboard! Those are two nice jackets you have there. The novapelle hide makes an excellent LC jacket. I look forward to pics of your Raiders jacket.

Is it the camera flash that makes them look so light brown?
I've been thinking of getting a Wested...I LOVE my Todd's jacket, I really do - but weathering the edges gives you a gray color and not that lighter brown color that is more screen accurate (and a tipoff of better leather).

Does anyone know how Wested's goatskin jacket compares to Todd's jacket as far as leather thickness, quality and weight?

yes, I can chim in here. I have a todds and a wested ''soft goat'' as they call it these days.

the goatskin will take abuse for at least 40 years.

its very soft, NOT thick and drapes perfect for a Indy jacket. when you compare the todds lambskin to the soft goat from wested you WILL feel a HUGE difference.

see my soft goatskin raiders jacket in my big thread.
