Are you sleeping, or hiding? Maybe both.
Great picture! I'll be taking mine to the Oregon coast next week, but that's a getaway with my wife, so the wear and tear should be limited to the jacket alone.

Re: Show us your US Wings New Zealand lamb jackets
FINALLY getting around to posting these. I love the jacket, but it's been so hot. I gave up waiting for a break in the heat to wear the jacket for the photos, so you're getting "Hide on a Hanger" instead. Sorry. Maybe in the fall I'll do some posing.
What I'm enjoying about these is that each one is a little different, particularly the coloring pattern. Way to go, Sarge!

Re: Show us your US Wings New Zealand lamb jackets
Today I just received my NZ lamb that I ordered back in July. I ordered a Med Reg and it came without snaps?? While the leather is absolutely beautiful, the satin lining is very stiff, thin and paper-like. It's noisy when I move, and I'm not sure the lining will ever soften up.
Between the missing snaps and the noisy satin lining, I'm probably going to return it. Beautiful leather though!

Hmmm....sorry to hear that, Fitch.

Re: Show us your US Wings New Zealand lamb jackets
Did the first run of jackets have this type of satin lining? I don't remember reading any negative comments. It really is loud and annoying. It's like there is a paper layer between the satin and leather.

Hey Fitch. The lining in my NZ lamb jacket is very rich, soft and silky. My latest jacket has a nylon lining like your describing. There is some "crackle" to it. I've been wearing it for a couple days now, and the crackle is fading. I hope you keep your jacket, as this is a unique skin that will not be offered again once this run is gone.

Re: Show us your US Wings New Zealand lamb jackets
my USW VIP has a stiffer and rougher nylon which I feel is more sturdy. The one you are describing will most likely last longer. Same as Weston, my NZ has a softer lining and feels great to the touch.

Re: Show us your US Wings New Zealand lamb jackets
I received "my" NZ lamb which I was told was not in stock (and wouldn't be for weeks) when I actually paid for the Antique Cowhide. I also did not get the web belt that is on the packing slip/invoice (which I hope I don't have an issue since gift items that are not returned, its value will be deducted) nor the Cooper jacket dvd Myke said would be on the order. The lining also is thin and makes that noise. The zipper almost looks silver, definitely not brass. I noticed some jackets in this thread have stripes across the back but I don't know if they're as pronounced as mine. Doesn't look quite right, right? If I do decide to keep the NZ lamb, I imagine I would have to go down a size to a Large long due to the bagginess. Again, I'm 6'3", 210 lbs. What do you guys think? BTW I noticed the label is different with no US flag, does this mean it was made out of the country?

Re: Show us your US Wings New Zealand lamb jackets
the stripes seem a bit contrasty to me. The cut and sizing look good in my opinion.
One Note: the stripes were on the back of mine as well, but over the past few months and wearing it in a few rainstorms, most of the color has gone much darker and all of the variations are less pronounced. If you like the NZ, I would hold onto it.

I used some Lexol on it ( I've been too lazy to order Pecards ), but what really darkened mine up was getting it caught in some NYC rainstorms this summer.

You had to rub in NYC, man I miss that place (born in Brooklyn, lived on LI) . Well here in FL, we have a lot of rain (not this summer though as the past couple of years). Do you have (or can you please take) a recent pic after the rain showers? I do see your pic on page 3 from 2 months ago. Thanks!

not sure if it really shows in these picks compared to the new pics. the lighting seems to bring out every detail, but in real life the patterns are very difficult to make out.

Yes, nylon lining, not satin, my mistake.Weston wrote:Hey Fitch. The lining in my NZ lamb jacket is very rich, soft and silky. My latest jacket has a nylon lining like your describing. You talked me into it, I'll keep it a few days to see if the "crackle" disappears. I would like to have snaps though.
Thanks
Re: Show us your US Wings New Zealand lamb jackets
Looks like the lamb was on the grill for a little too long.
I'd definately send it back if it was mine. Unacceptable.

Okay I guess that settles that. I didn't know if it was salvageable. BTW my wife thinks I look like a giant cockroach
So I guess not everyone gets it like this.
BTW I just spoke to Myke and they're going to do a call tag and switch this out for the AC that I thought I was getting. And he said that all the new NZ lamb jackets will look like this.

Re: Show us your US Wings New Zealand lamb jackets
Just got my NZ Lamb and Cow Heroes in long as well. Apparently all of the NZ lamb longs came without snaps. Myke said he can mail some to me. Mine also has the extreme stripes and Myke did tell me the longs all have that as well. Seems to be a quality control issue to me. I can't decide if it's a deal breaker or not. I really like the weight, but the stripes are very noticeable. Guess I'll see what the wife thinks.
I'm also trying to decide if I can go a size smaller. I'm a 42 chest (no shirt) and a 38 waist (no pants). I'm 6'2" 185 lbs. The chest size of the larges match a Wested 44 Long I have (24"). Opinions?

Re: Show us your US Wings New Zealand lamb jackets
My NZ XL long I just sent back has the snaps. I could've kept it and tinkered with it, wearing in rainstorms and putting Pecard's on. But I would rather get just the AC and the 30th Anniversary Legends jackets. Also I thought it was a little baggy on me, which I believe the NZ lamb is bigger than the AC. We'll see once I get it. And for some reason, they did not have my AC on order, just the NZ. But it will be corrected hopefully in the next week or so once they get the NZ and I get the AC.riothamus wrote:Just got my NZ Lamb and Cow Heroes in long as well. Okay, the barbecued zebra comment was pretty funny. Wait, did you say that Myke said that all the NZ lamb jackets will look like this? Umm, what are they doing to those Kiwi lambs, I wonder...

Re: Show us your US Wings New Zealand lamb jackets
I'm sure everyone here that wanted one ordered one already but I see the price of this is now $295. I assume this is due to what Sarge was saying about price of leather going up due to an increase in Chinese labor wages.
Re: Show us your US Wings New Zealand lamb jackets
Based on the weirdo devil zebra stripes on the NZ lambs and the lack of snaps, I asked Myke if there were plans to have another run of longs made.
I'm waiting to hear back from him. I'm really bummed out by the stripes as I LOVE the weight of this jacket but it just looks WEIRD.

Re: Show us your US Wings New Zealand lamb jackets
My Indy NZ recently met with an unfortunate accident, or should I say, an unfortunate act of stupidity. Was standing against a wall and got it caught on something sharp and it sliced right through. This is not a knock on the jacket at all, I love it, just a warning to watch wear your standing with this amazingly soft leather on.
any thoughts on the best way to patch it up?

Re: Show us your US Wings New Zealand lamb jackets
While the rip is unfortunate, you could look upon it as an opportunity to give your jacket a little more "character", stitch it together, maybe put a leather patch over it.

Yeah...I am thinking like ron...give it a crooked, half-drunken, stitch-job, and call it character....then beat the rest of the jacket up to match!

Sarge,
Sorry for the delay in responding but I have had trouble coming up with the right words to show my gratitude. Once again you go far beyond what is required to make your customers happy. And I am proud to call myself a loyal customer.
Since the jacket is so new I am going to take you up on your generous offer. The slice was just eating away at me. I'll send out the jacket this week. make no mistake, I won't be leaning against any telephone poles in NYC wearing this jacket anymore
Thanks Sarge! ( I'll be more careful this time)
All the Best!
