Novapelle Wested info

Post by davefelker »

Hey guys, just received my Gibson and Barnes lambskin expedition, pics to come, but now I have my sights set on the wested novapelle hide. I know it looks a little light in color, but if I apply pecards will it make it out to be a darker brown? Plan on ordering today, thanks for any advice or information!

Yes, Dave...it will make it darker for awhile. You will have to re-apply at least once a year to maintain the darker coloring and the water-resistance of the leather provided through the Pecards application.

Well...unless you can actually raise Peter in an email....you could try him at peter@wested.com and see if you can get a line on what he has right now, too.

So...the novapelle is what he was using on that old LC jacket I used to have, then...hmmm...interesting!

Thanks for the info, just ordered custom ROTA in novapelle. Wested already sent the "processing" email so not sure how long the wait is but until then I have my lambskin expedition jacket I'm going to try to deal with. It's kind of "baggy" but then again I just got it late last week and its stiff and shiny!

I love Wested's Novapelle.

It has a kinda fuzzy texture to it that changes the darkness of the color, depending on which way it's brushed.
Out of the box, it has a nice CS look to it.

Using Pecards on the jacket will knock the fuzzy-ness down and will leave the jacket a rich, dark brown.
It will be very dark when you first apply the pecards, but, will lighten up after a few months.

Here's a shot of the leather on my Novapelle LC (Authentic Brown lambskin Raiders is on the left, just for comparison)

Image

The camera flash makes it look a little lighter than it is in person. Without the flash, the two jackets are very close in color.

Here are a couple of pics of my Wested Raiders novapelle jacket with an OTR authentic lamb. My novapelle jacket does not have any red undertones to it as others members jackets, but it has darkened quite nicely with several applications of pecards.

Wested's duatone cowhide makes a really nice LC type jacket. This one is in Copper Novapelle. "Nova, meaning new. Pelle meaning pelt, skin, hide"...let's take a look, shall we..... :P

Well-I do have that "other" jacket project in the planning and funding stages, but...I've been trying to nail down Peter on a few things, too, with PRECISELY the LC jacket in mind....

Looks like I've found my hide ;)

Hey guys, wested novapelle finally arrived! Pics to come I promise. The only thing is that it seems rather short, I'm 6'1" and it comes right below my belt. If it was one inch longer it would be PERFECT, I normally wear a 42 but ordered a 40 with longer sleeves for a more fitted look. Anyone have any idea how to lengthen the jacket? Heavy coat of pecards or anything of that nature? Any help would be appreciated.
