Re: Nowak Jacket Owners Thread
Well, my TNO Surrogates jacket just came in. MY GAWD! If you are on the fence, seriously, get a Surrogates. The jacket is AMAZING! The styling, the leather is all great! So much better in person. I also have my Raiders jacket back with adjustments and its better now, and have a 2nd Raiders on order (found some cash from savings ). I always wanted another Raiders (Don't want any other Indy style jackets) to have in a more grainy leather, and now I can. That'll be the end of my TNO jackets, and probably my leather jackets for A LONG TIME. I'll try and post some pics of these great jackets so I don't get this: ;0

Congratulations!
If Tony had been able to continue on, I'm sure there would've been a Surrogates Jacket in my future (I mean, y'know... AFTER my Crystal Skull... and Temple of Doom... AND SHRUNKEN LAMB RAIDERS...)
Oh, and wise decision to promise the photos... 'cuz yeah, I'd just hate to see you get one of those

Re: Nowak Jacket Owners Thread
I sent Riley an e-mail with my measurements for the jackets I am wanting, I did decide I am getting two from him, both a Raiders and a Last Crusade. I just have not heard back from him yet. I know he is probably busy with a lot of e-mails. Anyway, just was seeing if anyone has gotten in contact with him recently. I don't want to bug him, but at the same time I am wanting to make sure he got my e-mail. Sorry to post this here but all the other threads got locked for some odd reason.

SpeedRcrX, you really wear that jacket well! And wow, looks like the Surrogates jacket looks just as good zipped up as it does unzipped!

That Mutt jacket was a really special project (even the thread for the stitching of the name is special), Tony outdone himself for the leather I wanted something as light as possible since I have back problems and I didn't want a black jacket.
So he found this Burgundy very slightly shrunken lamb and I love it!

Some shots of my TNO Last Crusade Jacket, provided by the extremely talented Mr. Riley Barrie.
Thank you so much Riley, for a jacket that has become something that has exceeded my every hope and expectation in a piece of Gear.
I hope everyone here who sees these shots like it even tenth as much as I enjoy owning and wearing it.
(And Thanks to my wife who was - as always - my patient photographer)

BEAUTIFUL jacket. And, as always, you wear it well. Mr. Riley Barrie and his staff....what can be said that already has not.
Recently received my Riley Barrie produce Tony Nowak Original "KOTCS" jacket, with some personal modifications. Enjoy your Nowak Original jackets, sir as I will mine.

Re: Nowak Jacket Owners Thread
Wow... THANKS fellas for the wonderful response!
Very glad you like the jacket... I'm loving it more and more each day. I know I'm not the first TNO Jacket owner to say these words, but these photos do not do proper justice to how wonderful this leather looks and feels in person!
It's a great piece of gear that I'm really proud to own.
Noah:
Thanks very much I'm just crazy about the look of the distressing on this jacket. I really appreciate the compliment!
Hollowpond:
Wow... THAT's a tough question... but I'm gonna answer this way:
If I have food available on the island, then I want my Raiders with me, because it's the jacket I'm MOST in love with... but if there's NO food available on the island, then I want the Last Crusade with me, because this yummy thing looks good enough to EAT!
ProfessorHenryWJonesJr:
Thank you SO much! You're right, of course... there's not much new in the way of compliments that we can add to what's been said about the jackets that have come out of that workshop... but yeah, I'll definitely treasure (and proudly wear) this jacket always.
BendingOak:
Thanks very much, John. I'll likely only ever own the two Nowaks, but I'm still thrilled to have them as two of the "crown jewels" in my own little collection.
Tundrarider:
Thank you Michael, for the compliment... but also, of course, for being a trusted source of opinion, information, direction and experience. I'm happy to call you a true friend: A friend to myself, to the Hobby and to our other Members here.
Texan Scott:
Thank you, Tex. A work of art, I couldn't agree more.
djd:
I really appreciate you saying that, my friend.
_:
Thanks very much, _! I guarantee you sir, I would NOT come to a Summit without BOTH of my Nowaks!
(Oh, also... I want to be sure I understood the request: When you asked "would you mind sharing?", you were talking to ProfessorHenryWJonesJr, correct?)
Indyzane:
Cool! Thanks!
Indiana Jeff:
I guess I hadn't realized just how rarely I'm seen minus the lid! Y'know, Jeff, I may have made a BIG mistake posting those shots, because now when I look at 'em all I think is: #1 "Wow, do I ever look GREY outside in natural light!" and #2 "Geeez, am i getting shaggy on top...time for a haircut!"
(And Jeff, keep up THAT level of emoticon/emphasis usage and I might be able to retire one of my fingers from typing duty!)
Digger4Glory:
Thank you! And you got it RIGHT! The Penman LC is my next order!
Again, thanks Riley for the jacket and thanks everyone for the kind words... glad you enjoyed the photos!
Cheers!

Re: Nowak Jacket Owners Thread
Way to go, LaRue! Absolutely brilliant work on the collar (I'm assuming you did some 'tweaking' by hand on it?), and it really compliments you nicely! And which tomb did you just barely crawl out of? Just when I thought my stance against pre-distressing was firm, you had to go ahead and taunt me with those beautiful colors!
On a side note, did you request the wavey zipper? Because it definetly is wavey! Personally, not something I'm a big fan of, but it definetly suits the distressed look!

Mitch,
That LC jacket is really beautiful, you are really dashing in it!
Now you need a LC fedora to go with it!

The colours are really nice in that leather... That combined with the cut make me think this is the most A2 like Indy jacket I've seen. It's got a real vintage military feel about it

Re: Nowak Jacket Owners Thread
Thanks very much, everyone!
Castor Dioscuri:
Much obliged, Castor... and glad you like that collar! The only tweaking I did to the shape of it was made possible by all of the rainy weather we've had here in Nova Scotia over the last week and a half:
There was one day when we weren't expecting too much wet stuff, so I wore the LC for the walk to work and it poured down in buckets! The hide of the jacket got soaked all the way through and so I laid it down to dry in my warm, dry office... I knew this might be an opportunity to "shape & mold" so I gave the collar a little bit of a curl here & there and just let it dry... you can see the results (and I believe this was the same cause of the zipper's waviness)
SpeedRcrX:
I'm very flattered, thank you... I haven't been called dashing in a while. And YES, the LC Fedora is next on my list (from Mr. Penman, of course!)
djd:
I couldn't agree more about the colors that have come out of this leather... I'm really thrilled with it. And I know what you're talking about when you refer to it looking like it's got a vintage military look to it. When I've got it on and I catch sight of it in the mirror I feel like this jacket travelled through time to get to me!
Indiana Holt:
Thanks VERY much

Re: Nowak Jacket Owners Thread
Thank you so much, Nick As you've read, I love the color, too!
I thought I'd already mentioned it, but it appears that I haven't... this LC was made using the Dark Crystal Skull Cowhide.
This was not only Riley's suggestion for the right look in a Last Crusade Jacket, but also recommended by Han Jones, used for Tundrarider's amazing #50 Last Crusade Jacket that Tony made for him AND (if I'm not mistaken) the same hide used for nephilo's LC Jacket as well.
Cheers, pal!

Same thing I got too, my #313. It makes a beautiful LC jacket. I've since darkened mine up with pecards gel dressing (necessity, I miss my light jacket).Mitch LaRue wrote:Thank you so much, Nick As you've read, I love the color, too!

Re: Nowak Jacket Owners Thread
Hi everyone,
Here's a little follow-up to my previous post with the shots of my new TN LC from Riley B:
Over the last few days I've had several people ask (usually through very kind personal messages sent through Facebook) why I hadn't gotten "into Gear" for my LC Jacket shots.
The reason was simple enough:
Other than my jacket I don't really own much in the way of LC Gear (sure, I'm planning on ordering a Last Crusade Fedora from John Penman and one day I hope to add an LC web belt to my collection, but I don't own a SA shirt, an LC holster, etc, etc)... but I was very flattered that several people had asked me about this (I also felt remorseful that not concealing my shaggy mop of greying hair under a fedora had caused Indiana Jeff such alarm! - please see the top of this page for the proof)
I'm only just getting to this now because about 10 minutes after my wife had snapped the last of the photos I posted on Page 27, the skies opened up and it's rained & rained pretty much continually since then ...
that is, until yesterday afternoon, when we finally had a glimpse of sun...
So, out we went to snap a few more shots "In Gear" not only with THIS Thread in mind, but also for some pictures I want to upload in General Gear showing my new Magnoli Pants.
The photos are a bit on the "brightly lit" side, but you get the idea.
Anyway, I've edited my post on Page 27 (taking away several Pictures & Links so that I could post a few new things here)
A couple of Links to the first few shots

(I couldn't resist doing this... I mean, who knows WHEN I'm gonna be in this gear again?)
http://i36.photobucket.com/albums/e38/M ... C01653.jpg
Once again, hope you like these.

WOW Mitch..those are freakin awesome! I know you like the raiders look and all but this particular set up is soooooo definitely you. The jacket already looked great but looks even better with the gear. Everything just look so smooth and goes together. Okay, maybe I`m looking alittle too much
Seriously though, you look perfect for an Indiana Jones movie poster!

So that's the Crystal Skull leather Mitch? Interesting... it looks a little different than mine. Could you take a close-up macro shot of the leather? It would be appreciated.

"Mitch LaRue", looking great as always in your gear. You are one of the very few who can pull of the "look".

Re: Nowak Jacket Owners Thread
Thanks again fellas for all of your kind words.
whipcracker, those are my Magnoli Cavalry Twill Adventure Pants - which, I've also posted a bit of info on over in General Gear.
Scott, I want you to know that for juuust a second there I thought my eyes were getting just a little bit droopy... that is, until I realized that I have naturally droopy eyes!
But NICE try, amigo!
Gorak, my friend... I am very flattered and deeply humbled by your kind words... Thank you.
Nick, it IS the Dark Crystal Skull Cowhide... but it should be noted that I've also done a little work on it to get it to look like this... there's a bit of a story there, too.
Now, of course, I've always thought that these showcase Threads were always intended just to show off the Gear... but I think sometime in the next few days I might elaborate on this (I think some people might find it a bit interesting) and do a little write up in the Gear Distressing Section.
In the meantime, though, I can certainly give you a little bit of info on this if you'd like.
If you still have my home e-mail, drop me a quick line and let me know... I'm pretty sure I still have yours.
Travis, that shirts just a tan avaitor-style shirt from Sears...
One day I hope I'll own one of Azuma's amazing LC shirts, but for now this is all I have in the way of a shirt that's a little LESS "Raidery"
Thanks again to all of you who took a moment to write something!

That is absolutely superb Mitch! You look like the right guy to stand in for Ford when the shot calls for Indy to eat knuckles.
That was a compliment son, the very highest!

Y'know Mitch, I am so used to seeing you in the best of the best gear, that shirt just caught me off guard! It doesn't look bad, just not as SA as I'm use to seeing on you.Mitch LaRue wrote:
