I took a few Indy jacket pics today. Here's a couple updated shots of mine.

These shots don't show off the leather like Scott's do, but should show how it looks when you get a good fit. When I find something I don't like about it, I'll let you know. You could be waiting a while!

Wow! Scott those are beautiful pics! I assume that is a 'regular' size and not a long, correct? My leather looks nothing like that, with the natural sheen, it's more of a 'suede' feel. Since the longs are made somewhere else, I wonder if the leather is a bit different? Pics below- flash and no flash- if you rub it one way it's light, rub it the other way it's dark. It acts like suede this way. I rubbed finger marks the opposite way to see the contrast. Do you think rubbing some oil in it would make it 'slicker'?

Kokopelli,

I would believe rubbing it in with some standard pecards or some boot oil would darken it for sure leaving a slight 'slick' surface.

its a naked skin afterall and I believe it would just 'drink' the pecards/oil up.

And to add what Holt said, Pecards makes a brown colored conditioner. I used it on my USW CE awhile back and it really darkened it up for a bit. The only problem is that with time the Pecards will dry up and it will return to it's original condition after a year. So, it you put it on annually it'll be fine.

Have you tried Black Rock ? I have used Black Rock for years and it brings out the true color ! Just an idea.
We should release the Raiders Legend Cow week after next and we will see what all the Fans have to say about the look and feel of this leather.. The weight is just a little more than the Hero But the feel is high end all the way and the look is as close as posable to the Raiders Movie.. We also want to make all the Raiders Legend Jackets the same weight if posable ! I have a whole Team working on these issues.
As you know the Raiders Legend Striated Lamb is done.. Roz Schott is now putting them together! _ is the First Retail customer I would not release that information until he posted a thread this date.. Weston Has the very first Raiders Legend made by Roz Schott and it was my own Raiders Legend.. He has the Cow and the Striated Lamb.. Now comes the major plus.. We will offer Long sizes! Look at _.. He is seven foot 12 and looks like the Iron Man!! Roz is still talking to herself.
All long sizes will be custom made and may take a month or so to hand make but just ask _.. It will be worth it due to longs are only $ 20.00 extra,
Like My best Friend said today.. it has been a long time coming!!

WOW now to me that is a good looking jacket!! I don't know anyone that wants a Indy Jacket to look like it just came out of the box.. No way!! Looks like it has paid its dues.
I love that look... Time and time again I get the same question.. How old is that jacket?
You nailed it.

That is absolutely gorgeous. I only Wish mine looked that good. I'm not complaining, I do like mine, but the look of the leather is not at all consistent across the different sections. Some panels have almost NO 'antique' look at all, while the back is perfect. This questions probably doesn't belong here, but does anyone know how I could mimic this 'antique' look myself? I can't send the jacket back because I got it in trade from another member (Thanks, again, nicktheguy! It fits great!).

Got a couple of outdoorsy shots (just ignore the backpack :P )

Zipped:

And a closeup of the leather, this is the biggest instance of "variance" in the look of the leather (that's the storm flap, in case you're wondering)

I don't think the pictures quite show the variance in hide or especially the 'antiquing', but maybe you can notice it. The right side of the jacket, overall, has less of an antique look than the left or back, but it is most prominent on the sleeves and collar, I think. I would appreciate any advice anyone can offer to make the jacket more evenly, um, uneven.

Thanks!

Well...I think it looks very good actually. I think just wearing it around for awhile will take care of it. You could even it out with a leather dressing, but then you totally change the patina of the leather.

I agree with Weston, I think the jacket looks great as is, but applying a leather dressing may give you more uniformity. I would leave it as is for at least 6 months before applying any treatment products to it. I plan to wait a full year before applying Pecards unless I feel the jacket has truly dried out before then. On a side note I really like the presentation/website you have set up for pictures steve.

I really cannot express how much I love this leather. I know many have placed orders for the Legend in the Striated Lamb and are also =P~ over the Bison however I ordered my Legend jacket in the Antique Cow leather.

I have not worn any of my other Indy Jackets, except for comparison pictures, since recieving the AC Hero. Do not be surprised if you see several of my other jackets posted in the Cairo Bazzar before the year is over.

Just received an email that needs to be shared:
FYI..
There will be a Price increase of $ 100.00 for the Hero Cow and Lamb from $ 195.00 to $ 295.00 and $ 20.00 for longs.
This price increase is not for COW members in good standing. All COW members will still be charged the old price.
If they are charged the new price they must tell either Myke or Myself and we will give them a refund.. Our Web Master is changing the prices this date.

This is how my jacket looks like now after being caught in 3 tropical storms and fully drenched, and multiple days out in the sun on a field trip. Sleeping in the tropical jungles, crawling on the ground, etc. Basically the whole gamut of rough wear in the jungles. Talk about being built like a tank! The only thing I haven't done is being drag behind a truck. Not that I'm going to do it anytime soon :Plymouth: Also, the climate here in Malaysia is sometimes very hot, and in evening, humid. A jacket that is fully soaked wet will dry in about half a day :)

Image
Image
Image
Image

I should add that I bought the Jacket and had been wearing it for about a month now, in addition to the field trip, to air-conditioned offices, daily walks etc. Seems like durable. I am hoping that the US made Legend will be this tough as well :whip:

It seems to feel a bit dry though, and I'm wondering if I need to apply a leather dressing on the jacket. Don't have pecard but do have Drubbin so am wondering if that will be good.

The texture on your jacket looks great! Glad to hear it's holding up to everything you are throwing at it. If it's been soaked and dried as much as you're saying, a bit of leather dressing is probably in order.

Thanks. Actually, the back panel looks the way it did because of the way the jacket is hanging from the hanger. :D The panel is the same as before. I should take some pics of me wearing it later.

Certainly then I owe some other good people my gratitude. Let me know the team so I can at least extend my grateful thanks!

Out of interest, in the short while I've owned this peach, these are the places it has already visited:

Los Angeles, Death Valley, Riverside, San Diego, Atlanta, San Francisco, Petaluma, Perth, Sydney, Melbourne and Auckland.

Fanboy places it has spent significant time include: Digital Domain, DreamWorks, Rancho ObiWan, Tippett Studios, PIXAR, Lucasfilm and SkyWalker Ranch.

… and not an argument between us yet!
