The jacket looks great MaXer! After it dries use some Pecards and it should be fine. :)

well, my first jacket was an off the rack. its beat to #### by purpose. after I ran after a guy the jacket got snagged by something sharp and made a HUGE gash in the lambskin. after that I ripped the entire jacket apart to see how well it was made and I was curious how good the inside reinforcements were. I still have it in my closet.

the most perfect jacket I own is my goatskin 'Holt raiders' the most comfortable jacket (fit-wise)and also has VERY good detail ( it just lacks the slightly longer collar) is a dark cowhide.

so, my first cant be compared to my customs. I only go custom with wested.

Cool that you still have the first one, although it's torn apart. That's commitment!

I havn't experienced goatskin myself, so I just went for what I believed was used in the movie.

In other news, I wore my newly distressed jacket to school today. It's a little cold for it, but it managed just fine.

Thanks again!

I think I'm done with the distressing, Holt. I've gotten the worn look that I wanted. I was aiming for a raiders distressing, obviously. I ended up a little more ToD-ish, I think. But I didn't want it looking as worn as LC or CS.

well, the CS is the least aged of them all.... heck, it aint broken in even... ;)

love the CS jacket but not aging it or making it looked really lived in like an Indy jacket should look was a big FAIL IMO.

The CS jacket looks stiff as a board to me. Don't like it at all. I can honestly say that if that was the only Indy jacket I would not be into gear.

Hmm, I may be remembering wrong. I just checked a few pics. I see what you mean. although, here it looks pretty worn, but not an "adventure" distressing, I'll give you that. Here it looks almost brand new.

Raiders and ToD are definitely my favorite jackets, for something I can wear on a daily basis.

Max,

do me a favor.

measure from the center bottom collarstand down to the bottom of the yoke. what do you get? 5'' ? and then the space between the shoulder seam and yoke seam. 4''?

just wondering.

Thanks Noah!

No problem, Holt. But uhm... Could you be more specific...? I have no idea what the yoke is...
Also, I'm not sure exactly where to measure from when you say bottom of collar stand. (but i'm guessing center means right behind my neck)

lol. the collarstand is the band that the collarlapels sit on.

so....

the center of the bottom collarstand (by the seam) down to the seam that runs across the back. (yoke) I think its 5''

and then the space between the shoulder seam down to the yoke seam on the armhole. and this should be 4''

oh..just wondering. Im also curious to see if they used my ''holt collar'' specs. looks like it. care to measure the entire collarband inside the jacket for me? from edge to edge down by the seam. what do you get?

how do you like the lamb so far? I have a raiders lamb I have not shown the world yet. well my good friend Erin (tennessee smith) has seen it.

its a dark brown lambskin. I mean almost pitch black with a dusty greyish/brown tone. not like their standard dark brown lamb. its a super raiders color. very much what you see on screen... maby Ill show it soon...

im rambling... anyways, thank you...

"holt collar"?

Well, if I'm measuring the right place, depending on how much I pull it to make it flat, it's somewhere between 18.9 and 19.7 inches.

I like the lamb. It's very light, and moves well. Go on, show the world! I'd like to see it, anyway. I had a real hard time deciding between authentic brown and dark brown. I think the authentic looks really good. It has all kinds of shades of brown, depending on the light. Down to practically black.

yeah, I have my own set of specs that I worked on and of on for about almost 2 years. I sent them to Peter and had a jacket made up. there is a HUGE thread about it somewhere. (edit: here it is http://indygear.com/cow/viewtopic.php?f ... +introduce)

Peter uses the ''holt'' specs now and then. thats why I was wondering about the yoke aswell. looks like he made it with the specs I made.

about the ''holt collar'' the original raiders collar is longer then how wested normally have them made. (your collar is standard) so I made a set of specs for having them make it how it is suppose to be. same goes for the original jacket yoke. its slimmer. your yoke looks good. looks like it is made correctly to what we see on screen.

thanks :TOH:

Cool. A little strange he didn't do the collar "right". I gave them a bunch of specs that "agent5" from filmjackets compiled. Supposedly he really knows his stuff. He was also involved in making the SA gun holster for adventurebilt, as I understand.

I'll give your thread a look. Right now I'm busy getting stuff ready for the Halloween party. People are coming over in 45 mins...! :D

yes, the agent5 specs are good for making a good raiders jacket IF wested follows.

In my opinion the agent5 specs lacks some details. he did do a great job. dont get me wrong. but we all have our own idea of how the raiders jacket should be.

it looks like wested followed the agent5 specs. good! I just really could identify the smaller collar.

check my thread out and see the difference between a standard collar and the longer collar.

Has Peter got the Lamb he was looking for to do his "Hero" Raiders that was talked about some time ago?

Is this maybe a look at the first of a new version Wested Raiders jacket?

Luckily they followed the specs very closely. Which details do you mean? I looked at the collar, and I see what you mean. I hadn't noticed that. Now I have an excuse to get another jacket at some point. :D

Holt, when you say 'longer collar'. Do you mean a collar aperture that is a 'couple of sizes bigger than it would normally be for the chest size'. Sorta thing?

yes. I would say a 46 jacket collar on a 44 jacket if that makes sence. you can see how identical it becomes when compared with the ''WOS'' jacket collar.

Wow, didn't know we had Ronan Keating on the site. :D

Your jacket looks very good! I see what you mean about the collar. I think the collar on the close-up looks a little too long, though. How long is it? Is it on a 44 jacket?

yeah, more or less...

but dont you agree that every Raiders jacket should be made with a tad longer collar like that? just look at the nowak jacket. it has pretty long collar aswell and that jacket comes form the original. so it just prooves that the raiders jacket had that long collar. :D

Agreed, I do see that the collar should be longer. It's added to my list of things to have done differently if I buy another jacket.

It does mean that you have to wear a shirt with a collar otherwise it looks a bit weird. Also the slimmer guys are in danger of having a bit of 'Crazy Legs Crane' effect. I know of at least one guy who asked for a bigger collar only to send it back because it didn't suit him.

but I dont think you have to wear a shirt under it for it to be looking good. JMO. :TOH:

sorry, I dont mean to take over your thread bud.. but just look at this.

my jacket and collar doesnt sit 100% the same as on Ford in that picture, but just look at that long round collar that just lays on Fords shoulders. you can tell mine is the same kind but mine hangs more down and his is more pushed back. A raiders jacket needs this type of collar :D

and of course it got to be a short jacket. :D

Image

edit: I just tried with a sort on and pushed the jacket further back and the effect is SPOT on. pictures tomorrow.
