Awesome jacket, Nick. I'm glad we both got what we wanted out of this!

And since some bad mojo was brewing among some members about selling stuff through the Bazaar here, I just wanted to say how easy it was working with Nick to buy his jacket. Your measurements were spot on, dude. Communication was quick, shipping was exactly what I asked for.

I'll post some more photos of the jacket as soon as I can.

Cheers.

It is fantastic that both of you ended up with awesome jackets from TN through the Cairo Bazzar.

Dang, I'll have to keep an eye out in the Cairo Bazaar. I love that dark cowhide on that CS jacket.

Also, just wanted to add that I sold a Wested through the Bazaar and it went smoothly. The COW member that bought it was very satisfied. If I had to guess, I'd say that the majority of transactions through the Bazaar go smoothly. Otherwise we'd hear more about it.

Could you point me to the post about the closing of Nowak's? I was wondering what was happening and didn't find anything here. I saw the website was down. It's a shame someone can't carry on the tradition.

Ummm... I can't find the original thread either, so maybe it is gone. Basically, Riley posted that he was closing up shop when the last of the jacket orders came in. Or something like that. And then, a whole bunch of COW poo hit the fan. You can read about it just a few doors down, here:

Thanks! And of course it goes without saying that that jacket looks 100 times better on you than it ever did on me! If you need proof, here is a picture of me wearing that jacket (looks a little small on me, don't it?):

Yep, too small indeed. It's amazing what a little extra length in the sleeves and a touch more room in the shoulders will do for you. Also, I really had to work that collar to give it some shape. The collar construction is really much different than any other Indy jacket I've had. Tony definitely tweaked this design.

The leather on the CS jacket is really interesting. It is heavy and soft at the same time, and it is breaking in like a dream. It is getting softer and draping a little bit in the sleeves, shoulders, and around the body by the zipper. I can tell, it is going to develop some character. And now that it isn't 90 plus degrees here in Texas, I can actually wear it!

WOW!!! Did that open up a can of worms. It's a good thing they locked it. Sheesh you miss a couple of months and all goes crazy in the Nowak realm. Did Riley ever respond with an actual closing date?

No, it's hard to get an exact date for things like this.

Thought I would share a new pic of my jacket in the great outdoors. It is breaking in great, and my fiancee really likes it. I haven't explicitly told her that it is different from any of the other jackets I own, though. :[

Thanks, Nick. Now that I'm wearing the jacket almost all the time, the grain is popping out beautifully.

I just purchased a vintage Sears Hercules horsehide HalfBelt on ebay!! It appears to be in incredible condition. The sizing might be a little too big, but I had to take the chance since no one was bidding on it. I should get it in the mail by the end of the week. It looks just like the Surrogates jacket, minus the yoke and action pleat. I'll post pics when I get it.

Yeah, the past week or so, there have been several vintage HalfBelts on ebay. They usually go for big money (for used jackets, anyway), but I got lucky with no other bidders pouncing at the last minute. If it is too big, I know I can sell it for a bit more than I paid! O:)
