Re: Production shirt, belt and whip holder up for auction
$2000-$3000 huh?
I can see that value if maybe the shirt is indeed a production or screen used shirt. But I'm sorry that belt and whip holder are nothing like the screen worn belt and holder. Completely different leather thickness, color, end cut and buckle. The holder shown is a latigo holder with a fold and the LC belt had no grooves nor grooves on the keepers and the buckle contours are all wrong. So maybe they had this sent as a sample, but it is obviously not the same set up as what we see in the film. Which anyone with screen cap capability could easily demonstrate. Here's the best I could do for the moment:
Compare to:
W.E.

I do like that buckle, but I agree pretty much nothing is close.

Looks like one of the modern prop repros, if you ask me.

I think this actually was pulled from the auction, as it wasn't a screen used shirt or belt etc. That's what I read on another forum.

The auction doesn't say it was screen used.TheExit148 wrote:I think this actually was pulled from the auction, as it wasn't a screen used shirt or belt etc. That's what I read on another forum.

I see Peter finally decided to auction off part of Noel's collection.

Well, I must interject, those shirt buttons are exactly the same as the one's on my Azuma LC.

I don't know whether it is screen used or not, but my Azuma LC shirt is SPOT on to that one...

Are they willing to show the Western Costume or any other identifying tag and any writing there may be inside the shirt? I would have to agree that the buckle pictured looks exactly like the one Peter sent me when he was selling the Noel Howard gear.

The epaulets are too long to be Last Crusade. They're Raiders length.
Re: Production shirt, belt and whip holder up for auction
I believe the epaulette placement is quite different. They are very tapered on this shirt.Hollowpond wrote:I don't know whether it is screen used or not, but my Azuma LC shirt is SPOT on to that one...

Re: Production shirt, belt and whip holder up for auction
I see two possibilities:
- belt was a LC production made item which Noel used as a template for his reproductions
- the belt is one of those reproductions
I just compared it to my NH LC belt and it is IDENTICAL (except on mine I have removed the white waxy stuff on the leather). I could post pics, but it is basically identical so there isn't much point.
Hard to tell anything about the shirt without seeing the tag inside the collar...

Re: Production shirt, belt and whip holder up for auction
I am confident to say that the shirt and belt are from NH's reproduction. The shirt is a 100% Raiders shirt with dark colored buttons, and is possibly from earlier MBA runs (1999). I had exact the same LC belt before, and was bought from Mr. Howard during MBA era. I personally believe that Mr. Howard did not own a TOD or LC shirt in possession throughout these years.

Re: Production shirt, belt and whip holder up for auction
He did have a shirt, jacket, shoes and pants from TOD in his possession that I viewed. I'll have to go check my notes but I recall the shirt had the same "Raiders II" WC label as the jacket. The shirt and pants were in very poor condition.azuma wrote: I personally believe that Mr. Howard did not own a TOD or LC shirt in possession throughout these years.
Re: Production shirt, belt and whip holder up for auction
I don't think the shirt with "Raiders II" label actually a TOD shirt. I have seen the photos of that shirt from some other forum a long time ago, and I may have those photo stored somewhere in my other computer. If I remember correctly, the shirt with "Raiders II" label appears to be very different construction than TOD shirt, and it has the same spec as Raiders shirt. I will try to dig out the photo.
