Raiders jacket
Heres my Raiders Nowak Jacket that I first started off with Tony and finished up with Riley. It's a Raiders 747 and I couldn't be more happy with it. Fits like a ........ well . like only a custom made jacket could. I have had it for a couple of weeks and it has seen some rain. I love the way it is breaking in. The best thing I can say about it is that Tony would be very proud of Riley. fantastic job Riley, thank you very much. I will let the photos speak for themselves. Any questions, feel free.

Beautiful jacket. And as nice as that jacket is, I'm most drawn to the fall colors behind you. That's something we don't get much in Texas .
I really miss Oregon. Although I don't remember colors quite that vibrant from when I lived there.

That's a beaut. That 747 hide really pops.
Re: Raiders jacket
For the record... I love the way this Indiana Jones Raiders Jacket is made and how it was made... I feel it is important for Riley Barrie to offer the Fans a custom made Indy Jacket with this quality for all future Indy Fans.Forrest For the Trees wrote:Beautiful jacket. No doubt.. Think about this.. US Wings Inc. does not make custom made Jackets But has deep pockets...We would put Riley Barrie in business making custom made jackets for COW.. Now that would be a Hoot.BaptisteTheFool wrote: This is one of the most stunningly gorgeous jackets I've seen posted.

Re: Raiders jacket
Oak,
I own a wested raiders and to say what most know, the hide doesn't come close on my Wested. Your TN looks better in the picture than mine does in person. That hide is super luxurious looking. The inscription makes it all the more special.
Nice hat by the way! Who made that for you?

I have decided that I like the gaps, the little, narrow ones not the wide, Grand Canyon ones...
Re: Raiders jacket
That is an AWESOME jacket John! Looks great on you! The TN/Riley Barrie Raiders jacket truly is king. I myself have a Riley-made Raiders jacket in shrunken lamb. It is such a great jacket I wouldn't mind another but in the 747 leather.... something a little stronger than the lamb.
Wear that with pride John! It definitely suits you!

My first thought was that it's striated lamb from USWings. They are pretty similiar to my eye.
I can notice small gaps... which are cool Riley did awesome job!

Re: Raiders jacket
Now, I hear there's this trick you can do to it with a pocket knife and a wire brush.... Just kidding.
I'm, personally, a fan of the distressed and beaten look myself but that's an absolutely perfect example of a jacket with an abundance of character right "out of the box" and we all know it's going to get better and better. I love that leather! I agree that this is one of the best jackets we've seen posted yet.
Congrats, John!

I'm so glad you got this jacket! I love mine and I know you love yours. Very cool inscription, as well. Very "fitting".
Sorry for the pun.
Well done!

And gee, look at that, sorry for rhyme too.

Wow, that jacket looks great on you and the leather certainly has tons of character, well like a well-marbled steak! And I mean that in a good way! Congrats!
By the way, I can't help but notice what looks like a white stain near the top end of your sleeve there, might want to get that taken care of!

After you said something about the white stain. I went to the jacket and it's not there.ust have been washed away from the rain. The up side of Oregon, it's alway getting a bath.

Re: Raiders jacket
I asked him that very question via email on the 18th and he said:
"As for the last day at the factory, that all depends on how may orders I am getting. I won't shut down when people are still buying jackets."

Re: Raiders jacket
So he's NOT closing after all?
ALL businesses operate on that premise. No orders, no reason to stay open. Orders coming in, the doors stay open.
What's new?

Re: Raiders jacket
Well I don't get it either. You either close or you don't. I don't want to be out of line but: Riley's staff might make him some great jackets (as they did for Tony) but Riley's business practice makes me want to avoid him. Disingenuous is the word all right.

First, I thought there was a thread already for this.
2nd. Everyone was sad when they heard the news that he was closing his doors. If for some reason he can now keep them open. Wouldn't people be happy for him, his family and us?

Why would I be happy when I can't tell what the vendor's real agenda is? It smells fishy, that's all. I hope it's all above board and that Tony's business survives.BendingOak wrote:CM wrote:Well I don't get it either. You either close or you don't. Re: Raiders jacket
I thought it was about getting an answer. You got your answer. The shop is closing. You are not going to give a film date because he doesn't have one to give.
Re: Raiders jacket
If there is sufficient market interest to keep Riley busy making jackets, that can't be anything but good news for everyone.
