VERY Custom Wested for Bike!
Now the Wested fever got me. Some month after getting my first Wested as a gift. I want to oder a new one for bike tours and a Fan inspired movie.
But which Modell of the Wested should I choose as basic.
Which changes have to bee done ?
Which Leather ? It has to be very tough ! Predressed ore not ?
It should keep the typical Indy look so details are very important
(like Zipper etc) !
Would you be so nice and help me putting together such ja Jacket ?
Maybe some of you habe some other good ideas

You never said which one you currently have but as a fellow motocyclist,
(I assume you meant motocycle bike tours) I'll give you my input.
Definitely go for the goat. It is the toughest leather considering the weight.
I would go with all cotton body, maybe satin sleeves, just for the added warm comfort.
Add press stud to the storm flap, so as to keep the flap from flapping when riding (something i really need to do at some point).
I wouldn't worry about pre-distressed, the riding will take care of that.
Depending on what you ride, I would probably stick with the raiders jacket for length. If the jacket is too long, it'll just bunch up on the seat and be more annoying then anything else.
Thats my .02

Now it´s me the third time
I orderd my TOD for Motorcylce last tuesday with this spez:
Temple Jacket
Dark Brown - Durable Goatskin (because I need a though Leather Jacket)
Lining:Satin
for Screen accuracy : side straps like seen in the movie
Extend back panel all the way out to the sleeves and taper to hem.
Sleeves seams ends perfectly where the back panel ends.
No threads in the action pleats (under the side straps)
Elastics between action pleats
untapered sleeves
Underarm Gussets
Underarm ventilation holes
Dual inside pockets : press stud for left inside and a “last Crusade Pocket” for my “Gral Diary”
Make the Jacket a bit longer in front than in the back
little roomier fit because it will be my general winter jacket
pocket placement : at 1" from the storm flap and 1.5" from the bottom
Cargo pocket dimensions 6" tall x 5"wide with the flap measuring 2 3/4" down the center
More sculptured pocket flaps then standard
Storm flap width 1.5"
Hidden press snaps (very important that they are hidden)
Right hand zipper pull
I´m very nevous because it is the first Wested that I order !

I have been trying to insert the pics, but I can´t.
Send me mail orlansolo@wanadoo.es and I send you the pics.
About the modification, they have two:
-In the collar; Press stud in the collar.
-In the sleeve, you got the normal position or you can reduce them when you go travelling bike.

It does! If the jacket is loose fitting it fills up like a paracute. The only thing that would help is wearing gloves with gauntlets long enought to cover the ends of the sleeves. And you need to make sure you can button down the collar as well. The flapping of the collar against the helmet can be annoying.zohar wrote:How do you riders feel about the barrel sleeves for riding? I figured it would funnel air up the sleeves.
